Happy Easter! Christ is Risen!

How has the Resurrection changed your life? Please share in this thread. Also share how you would begin to witness from the Resurrection of Jesus. The Bible says God granted Proof that He is going to Judge the world by raising a Man, His Son, from the dead. The Resurrection is the Proof of Christ's Gospel!

Acts 17:30 "So indeed, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God, as to the present things, is commanding people that everyone everywhere should repent. 31 Because He set a day on which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man Whom He designated, having granted a proof to everyone— having raised Him up from the dead”.

Re: Christ's Resurrection: A Historical Fact.

I would like to see something other than the Bible verifying Jesus' crucified
dead body was restored to life.

Yes indeed, He is risen!

Sherlock Holmes once famously said: "After you have eliminated everything that's impossible, what remains is the truth, however improbable."

When we consider the alternative theories for the empty tomb they all fall short; they're impossible. Therefore the resurrection has to be true.

If the Bible is not good enough, then nothing is good enough. But how about the FACT that Christianity spread throughout the world and millions were converted?

One of the problems of free speech are folks like
Webers.Home being given a platform to preach his antichrist doctrine. While others like myself respond giving him more times to preach.

That's odd since even secular historians, who are experts on the New Testament, consider many books of the NT to be reliable as historical documents.

Here is a TWO HOUR LECTURE by Dr. Gary Habermas - to get you started.

Since when did Christians start comparing Christianity with Islam? According to this reasoning Communism is the greatest religion since there are so many countries committed to godless Communism (even more than Islam).

. You're 100% correct Magenta.
Why is she 100% correct? The Gospels are HISTORICAL records which are far more reliable than what any secular historian has to say (having been divinely inspired). Now if you don't believe this, then don't claim to be a Christian.

Some off you are acting like a grave sin was committed to have perhaps expected something beyond what we accept as the historicity of the Biblical texts given how the OP title was worded. Maybe you do not rejoice when archeological and historical artifacts and findings are discovered that confirm Biblical events, people, places, and things, but many do, and this has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they accept the Bible as being true in the first place. That any long-time reg would speak of/to Weber as if he were a non-believer is shameful.

If Magenta's point is that everyone needs to relax... then I'd agree.

Everyone on this thread, so far, has been in theological agreement... although we've had some misunderstandings.

FYI, if anyone wants to familiarize themselves with more evidences for the resurrection:

- Gary Habermas, in the video I posted, has good evidences for atheists that are skeptical of biblical texts.
- Lee Strobel, wrote Case For Christ, which is very good, and gives a broad range of evidences... easy to read.
- William Lane Craig, has done numerous writings, debates, and lectures - they're a bit more analytical
- Mike Licona has also done extensive work on the resurrection, with books and lectures available

* There are many others... but this is a good start for anyone interested.
* Several of the gentlemen I listed did their doctoral dissertations on the resurrection.

One question: Is the name Easter derived from fertility deity Ishtar - which was the same as Asheroth that God specifically condemned?

All else, and any superficial misunderstandings aside, I personally LOVE any and all archeological findings that affirm or support Biblical events.

Religious fanatics are very much alike in that respect. For example: Muslims
would doubtless make the same claim for the Koran as you've made for the
gospels.

I'm not yet aware of any archeological findings that affirm and/or support
the Bible's supernatural events, e.g. Jesus' resurrection.
