Did you thought about some characteristics of the mouth and lips of those who belong to Jesus?

1 – Their speech is full of wisdom and judgment:

• Psa 37:30 -> “The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.”.
• Psa 119:13 -> “With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.”.
• Pro 10:13 -> “In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.”.
• Pro 31:26 -> “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

2 – Their lips minister grace:

• Psa 45:2 -> “Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.”.

3 – Their lips feed many with the Bread of Life (John 6:35,48):

• Pro 10:20,21 -> “The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.”

4 – Their lips are full of sweet words which increase knowledge and brings health:

• Pro 16:21-24 -> “The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”.

So, everyone who belongs to Christ ought to treasure in their heart only words which are good for edification, to reconcile people with the Creator:

• Mat 12:35 -> “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”.
• 2Co 5:19 -> “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”.
• Eph 4:29 -> “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”.
• Col 4:6 -> “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”.
• Col 3:16,17 -> “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”.

After all, this was one of the things that amazed the heart of the people in regard to Jesus:

• Luk 4:22 -> “And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?”.
• Luk 11:27 -> “As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!””.

So, have a good day investing your time on knowing Jesus and His word better. Don’t be sluggard dallying on things that don’t bring edification. This only will make you sluggish to “eat” the word that comes out of the mouth of the Creator (Deut 8:3; Mat 4:4):

• Pro 19:24 -> “The sluggard buries his hand in the dish and will not even bring it back to his mouth.”.
