Job 34:7 -> “What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water, and goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.”.

What does this mean?I don't see anything wrong with Job, Please answer me why.thx.

Job is a righteous man. Because of that the devil targets him to prove that his obedience to God is as vapid as the wealth with which he was blessed. He was so affected by the mafia tactics of devil that his friends started to say Job must have sinned (such that God would take retribution). But Job stands by his righteousness and endures the wrong advice and opinions of his so called friends. His friends are calling him the worker of iniquity because they are ill informed.

Your choices is yours, for me names with problems or being tested by God in man and kingdom in us, still looking for God to come is another opinion.

These were false accusations made against Job = just like today, religion persecutes the Spirit.

Thanks for taking note. But I will add. Job is a good example of righteousness. But we are to follow perfection in Christ.

AND, may i humbly say that Job was a foreshadow of the sufferings of Christ = whose heart never turned aside from the Will of the FATHER.

I am sure that when we lookup to someone for righteous lessons, we will see Job. But when Job seeks righteous lessons he would see Abraham. And Abraham he would see Jesus.

Jesus was sinless. Never rebuked by the Father.

Abraham to my knowledge was never rebuked. In fact he was promised swath of land.
2 Chronicles 20:7Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?

Job was rebuked, twice in fact
Job 40:5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Job 42:6Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
What was his sin? he doubted God in his righteousness. His righteousness became self-righteousness. Demanding why of God will not be well received.

Follow Jesus to whatever end. That is our lot.

1.) Comparing Abraham to Job we see that Abraham sinned and the LORD had to rescue Sarah from Abraham's sin.
We do not see that with Job.
2.) Abraham was not tested as Job and Abraham/Sarah waiting for offspring does not come anywhere near Job's testing & PATIENCE.
3.) The LORD rebuking Job was a BLESSING.
One which we all would desire if we were honest with ourselves.

But here is another Scripture of High Praise from the LORD that separates Job from Abraham.

The word of the Lord came again to me, saying: “Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it.
Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord God.

Now you may say that Abraham delivered Lot - nope = not the case, for the Scripture says that Lot was righteous.

and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 2 Peter 2:6-9

Abraham is not mentioned here in the deliverance of "righteous Lot".

Job was as much a 'friend' of God as Abraham and even more so.

CLUE/Answer - It has to do with something pertaining to the Gospel

1)Abraham was not rebuked for throwing Sarah under the bus. The criticism comes from sensibilities of this world. MeToo and sl-tshaming ideas. Abraham did nothing wrong in the Eyes of God. Why? The Lord commanded him to be a Father of the Nation. He did as the Lord commanded at great price. His beloved Sarah. And still better yet our allegorical mother probably agreed to it.
2)Abraham was sacrificing his beloved son Isaac at Moriah. This is the son of his old age. Why because his God asks! Cannot get any hardcore than that. Not knowing how God feels, you should remark Jesus was sacrificed for the betterment of this world. There is a parallel with Abraham and Isaac.
3)Rebuking is means of correction. If the one who is rebuked repents, it is a blessing. Otherwise, the delusion will deepen. Blessing is a secondary effect.

Noah a most righteous Patriarch, Daniel a great Prophet, and Job a superbly Righteous man. Not even these would sway punishment of God. The punishment of famine. But consider Abraham

Gen 18:23And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

Abraham questions God in a way that had Job rebuked. Like I said, it is not wise to ask God "Why?". Only a true blue beloved can be comfortable doing this.

Lot was never in the equation. But will need to check it out. I only remember Lot being rescued by some kings.

Not written that Job was God's friend. God's manner to Job was in stark contrast with that of Abraham.

You have a misapplication of Abraham, seeking to exalt him beyond the scope of Scripture and his role.
The LORD calling Abraham 'friend' has to do with the Gospel and God's plan thru Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
The timing of this by the LORD is crucial to to the Gospel, God foreseeing those who would believe the Gospel as Abraham.
Therefore God reserved the 'freind' quote for the sake of the Gospel and ALL who would believe as Abraham = Jew & Gentile alike
This is what you are not seeing.
JESUS says: "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

Now, you will say to me: 'SEE DavidTree, Job was the servant of God whereas Abraham was God's friend..."
ALL who believe the Gospel and are Baptized in the Holy Spirit are God's friend and even more.
Job was BEFORE Abraham and Job's Faithfullness in enduring unjust suffering against him while remaining TRUE to God is the Greatest Aspect and Example of CHRIST going to the Cross and suffering unjustly for our sins.
Which Abraham was not tested in because it was not his role under the Plan of God.
Job began as the "servant of God" and in the End Job became the freind of God.
Job was exalted by God so much so that HE had Job pray for his 'friends' = Can you SEE now???

There is another servant of God who was far greater the Abraham = Enoch
Enoch had this testimony "that he pleased God and was not for God took him."

FINALLY there is the Greatest Servant of ALL = Do you know Him???

Job was as much a friend to God and even the more so for Abraham never suffered for Righteousness as the LORD Jesus did and Job.

Abraham was plainly written as the friend of God. Know that.

Job was a contemporary of Abraham and was written as a parable of man's righteousness. Job reached his limit and was found wanting in the Eyes of God. Job 38-42
Abraham was asked to sacrifice in Moriah by God and he obeyed.`Gen 22
Job as a friend. That is not written.
Praying for your friends, that is expected of anyone obeying God.

Once again the verses says what is says. Where is the "greater than Abraham".I certainly hope you are not using Book of Enoch a means of proof. There is a reason it is not Canon.

I read the Good Book plainly without conjecture. You placed many quotes. Put them in context wrt your arguments for me, so I can formally assess. But I leave you with this, read the last part of James 5:11 which you have quoted - The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Job got everything back in spades. Why? because God is merciful.

Jesus said "Abraham rejoiced to see my day"

Job actually received his prayer & petition when the LORD came to him, and the LORD'S Mercy(His Day) was upon Job from the very Beginning to the very End = GOSPEL = same with Abraham = same with us who are His.

GOSPEL = The Scripture exalts Job, in the same manner as Abraham making no distinction between Jew & Gentile of God's Mercy.

And so it was, after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.
Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job(Christ),
and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you.(Christ)
For I will accept him/Job(Christ), lest I deal with you according to your folly;
because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job."(Christ)

6 times the LORD says: "My servant Job" as a Blessing and not a curse(Testimony and Witness of God).
The 7th time Job is mentioned, is of REST and speaks of the Second Coming of the LORD.

Going back to Hebrews 4:16 = Everyday we are in need for Mercy and Grace from our High Priest, the LORD Yeshuah HaMashiach.

For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.

On earth as it is in heaven.

Jesus says of Himself: "I am the Alpha and the Omega - the First and the Last."

Abraham was the beginning of the Gospel and Job is the completion of the Gospel = His Second Coming.

First came the righteousness of faith/Abraham the LORD finished with the righteousness of faith/Job.
= Beginning and End of the Gospel by Grace, both men not under the Law.

Gentiles are God's by proxy. The sponsor of us gentiles are because of Jesus in the NT. The reason is because of Abraham of the OT. With all due respect to Job, he is not a father to any of us. He is not the Eldest nor is he of the Promise.
