Jesus says.....'"and you shall never perish".

The "You" there, is all the born again, who are the : "predestined elect".
Faith elects, God saves.
Every born again person is predestined to be conformed into the Image of Christ.
Are you born again? Then that is you.
You gave God your faith, by FREE WILL, and God accepted your faith and gave you His Righteousness.

"shall never perish", is Jesus explaining that because Christ is now in all the born again, and all the born again are born into God by God's Holy Spirit.....this situation can't be changed.
"shall never perish".
"never".

Now, if you are truly born again, and not just water sprinkled or water dunk'd and told that the water has saved you, or is required for you to be saved......(same cultish nonsense)....then you are going to meet a lot of so called "christians" who are on their own religious trip.
Their trip, many times, is not leading them to heaven. Their trip is leading them to damnation, even as they quote verses all the way to hell.
And why is that?
Its because to be born again, is to already be IN Heaven.
No Trip Necessary.
See, every born again person is waiting for their new body and the end of their eternal inheritance.
Every born again person is a " heir of God", and a joint heir with Christ".
This has HAPPENED. It is who we are, = all who are born again.
We are already HEIRS of the eternal promise and established in God's Spiritual Family as "born again" SONS of God.
If you are a girl / woman, that means you, if you are born again.

And a person says......>"but, absent from the Body is present with the Lord".... and we are going to meet Jesus in the Air, and get our new bodies.""
And that is exactly correct. And while you are waiting to do that, you are already seated in Heavenly Places, "in Christ", and you are already...>>"As Jesus is.....so are the born again, IN THIS WORLD".

Yes, its a spiritual mystery that is a eternal reality....if you are born again.

Welcome to your Salvation.
God accomplished it on the Cross and provides it when you believe in The God man, who was manifested in the Flesh to take away the sin of the world.
This is GOD on the Cross who said...>"it is FINISHED"....and He should know, as He just took the sin of the world upon Himself and died for YOU, 2000 yrs ago.
If you are born again, then Jesus has become your sin, and you have been "made righteous" and have become ..."the righteousness of God, in Christ" and you shall "never perish".

So, if you are water baptized religious, but lost..... always trying to be good, to try to be good enough for God acceptance....then stop....You can't do it.
And if you are born again and are trying to get God to keep you, then STOP, as you will "never perish"< and you need to relax, let go of your self righteousness, and exist in real faith that is TRUST that God Himself who started your salvation in you, will HIMSELF be faithful to complete it.

“So, if you are water baptized religious, but lost..... always trying to be good, to try to be good enough for God acceptance....then stop....You can't do it.”

I’m trying to imagine the holy spirit encouraging people to stop trying to do good because they just can’t

It seems opposite from things like this

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it seems oaul was willing that the people who believed in Jesus be constantly reminded to maintain good works. Not the message “stop trying to do good you can’t do it “

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

again this seems opposite from “ don’t worry about what you do your already saved “ or “ either way no matter what you choose to do your saved or lost “

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Seems like Paul was telling them to work out thier salvstion through obedience .

the idea of hyper grace is destructive when the message is “ don’t do what God said will save you or don’t try to do good “ or you don’t have real faith “

Seems quite an opposite view sort of like saying “ the fruit won’t harm you even though God said it would

I agree with your overall point. I would just add that we do have to understand we can't be perfect, but that doesn't mean we can stop trying. When we realize it's impossible for us to save ourselves that's when we get humility and His grace can start to operate.

yeah we’re definately not perfect and won’t be until after he returns , we’re going to need his mercy though yesterday and today and always.

To be perfect includes acknowledging our imperfection but there’s a pursuit of Jesus Christ by his disciples , a constant seeking him through life , wanting to be like him more , wanting to walk in his ways , wanting to operate in his ways and teachings towards others just discipleship is what I’m talking about

we need to learn from Jesus and take that as Gods word often we try to figure it all out but it’s plain

for all the mistakes we made and make still sometimes hopefully we’re getting better with time but for all we need up Jesus is able to cover all that stuff and said he would but he also said a lot of other things for mis to discover and learn from is the thing.

we should have a goal of living upright godly lives in this world as Paul says of grace we should learn from the gospel about doing that

Our mindset regarding “ grace “should be more like this is all I’m saying

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭2:11-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Grace doesn’t eliminate the teaching part of the gospel the gospel teaches us about who we are and how we’re meant to live as Gods children eternal also teaches us about denying the lust and traps of the world , and living upright just lives before the lord in this world while we wait for him or our time comes to go to him

yeah no ones perfect but Jesus , I agree

Jesus says.....'"and you shall never perish"
This confirms the eternal security of the believer. But those who have been saved by grace are also "ordained" unto good works, and must practice "pure religion and undefiled" (while keeping themselves separate from the world and its lusts).

Those who oppose the eternal security of the believers imagine that eternal security means a license to sin. But it is quite the opposite. It means obedience to the command to be holy and righteous. The Bible tells Christians that what God says to them is "Be holy, for I am holy".

The Christian life should not be some great struggle where we always think that God is looking over our shoulder waiting to call us out on something we have done wrong. We are saved through Christ by faith and not by our behavior. That's all.

For example, when I read something like this: we can't be perfect, but that doesn't mean we can stop trying, I am not sure that person understands we can never be perfect and we do not have our own righteousness. Salvation is not about us trying to be perfect. We were not perfect before we were saved and we are not perfect now. God sees us as perfect in His Son and not by our deeds no matter how good they are.

Did you read the OP? And then the responses? Where did that person state anything about sin being acceptable? Yet people respond as though that is what was said. And then someone else brings up 'hyper grace'. It's puzzling.

Our life should represent our Confession. WE are not perfect but we are to be complete which the KJV context of be ye Perfect means complete.

Well there you go. Did I say our lives should somehow not represent Christ? Maybe you can tell me why you have misread what I said?

Be ye perfect. So are you? In Christ we are perfect. We cannot go to the Father without Him. Perhaps you might tell me why people seem to misinterpret when someone says we are not perfect in ourselves and we will never be. You know, God did not send Jesus to the earth to condemn us all, but rather so that through faith in Him, we might be saved from eternal condemnation.

Now I suppose someone will say I believe in universal salvation  I do not, but quoting scripture that states 'to save the world' might lead in that direction.

I do not believe we are free to sin and I do not believe in universal salvation even though God has made the offer to all.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

I will add that it seems some people think they are still under condemnation. We are not. Guilt is not from God.

Do you know that the word 'holy' means to be set apart? (seems you do, but many think it means performance) It does not mean perfect behavior. I have heard the argument that those who believe in OSAS think they can sin and that is not true of course so good you say so.

told that the water has saved you, or is required for you to be saved
The water doesn't save you are correct there but you are incorrect in thinking it's not something God requires of us.
We can't put God in a box and He can do or save as He pleases but if we refuse to do what God has ordained for our salvation we are putting God to the test.

first off I did not misread anything you need to stop being so defensive nor was I suggesting you said anything. it was just a response. I was not saying your are wrong and I am right I just responded to the thread that was it.
