I'd woken up early, and I took a long time getting ready to exist. ~Fernando Pessoa
Boy, sure enough, some mornings be like this. Toss and turn all night, then finally, after the 5th alarm, it takes a long time to get the body moving. It takes a lot of meditation to push back the immediate emotional response to the awakened pain.
Just another day, another reminder that my strength can never be left to my own will, or my own power.
It reminds me to find my strength in God immediately. The immediate negative thoughts, once the eyes awaken, are renewed by the hope and power of the Lord. Every morning is a battle where the darkness tries to smother the flame.
But my prayers are like lighter fluid to the flame, and soon the weight of darkness isn't as pressing.
