Ah so!

Side note: Do you realize how many songs there are about singing? Very meta, this.
Now there's some awesome doing housework music right there! Dance, sing and clean - woot woot!

Hahaha (I'm weird I know!)

No, that's fairly normal.

When I vacuum the church I have an edge over most - I'm the guy who sets up and troubleshoots the sound system, so I know where to plug my phone into the audio mixer. I load a few "songs to vacuum to."

I have my MP3 sorted according to activity... House cleaning is one group, artwork is another. The majority praises God in some way, because who can't help but be joyous and thankful in the little things? Even the music without lyrics is a song lifted to God in my heart...

Is this the singles forum?

If so then I'm sorry, I just noted the music thread in new posts, didn't mean to intrude in singles fellowship..

No prob. This is technically a forum for singles, but over the years it has evolved into the default forum for people, single and married, to hang out and chat.

If we kicked the married people out we'd have to give up a lot of interesting conversation. Besides there are a lot of married people here who are too cool to kick out.

I LOVE this song! What do y’all think?!
Existential, but kind of a downer.

This guy has watched too many movies. Movies always cut out all the stuff about saving for a birthday party and just show the party. Eh, maybe a music montage where they decorate for the party and make the cake, but that's cut short. They always show much more about the party than they show about the work that goes into it.

In real life you can't skip to the good part because the good part takes a lot of preparation. If you want a very bland, very boring life, keep trying to skip to the good part. If you want a good life with some good parts, get out there and make the good parts happen.

But yeah, we all wish we could skip to the good part. Join the club kid.

Only a few things I want to skip to the good part for. You do learn and grow closer to God in the bad parts. Idk I just like the beat and the violins

Ah. I see.

I listen more to the words than the instruments, though I do take interest in how the music moves the song along.

There are some very interesting songs that will never be in my collection, but I can understand what they're saying and sympathize. They ask questions everybody asks in his own mind, but they don't have a lot of answers.

"Once I was seven years old" is a song about the lifelong search for just ANYTHING to keep loneliness at bay. Make friends, find a spouse, have kids, all for the sake of not being lonely. All of those things never work in the long run, but we keep trying them anyway.

"Medicate" is about people who have lives that they think are pointless and futile, so instead of doing something important they get their doctors to prescribe medication that will help them ignore the problem.

I don't have either of these problems but I can understand them. Neither of the songs has any real solution, but they express the problems very well. They won't be in my collection but I can appreciate how well they were done.

I listened to faith hill when I was younger! She still has new stuff or no?!
Not too much newer stuff, I think. I’m mostly occasionally listening to her old stuff. She’s got a nice voice.
