The Holy Spirit is not confined to a book. And your large print does not legitimize your view.
Oh I see...it is just you and the Spirit, giving you fresh revelation?
God has given the Spirit to open up the scriptures to us. You are not suggesting that the Spirit deals directly with you apart from the written word are you?

So the Book can be read but remains closed until HE Opens it for us.

Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

Gee, and all this time I thought God's greatest gift to man was His Son.

PS: In context, the scripture you quoted would be only speaking of the Old Testament since the New Testament hadn't been compiled yet.
How do you know about the gift of God‘s Son? Scripture perhaps?

How do we know abput any and all of these things?
Why the Bible certainly reveals all those spiritual truths, it does point to the greatest gift of all.

You did not live in the first century.
You never saw or heard Jesus.
You have no true knowledge of Jesus or the cross without scripture.
That does not change the fact that Jesus is God's great gift. The Bible tells us about Jesus. It is not Jesus. John 3:16

The greatest gift from God to man is forgiveness.
It came in the form of a man. Who lived, died and rose again according to scripture.
He is the way, the truth, the life. His blood washed away the sins of the world.
For the work of the father was to beleive the son of whom he sent, and the work of the son was to glorify the father, and the father is well pleased in him.
For this son did not come to be served but to serve. He had not come to condemn and destroy but to save and restore.
This he did not do for his own sake but for those who beleive and obey.
For it was the fathers good pleasure to give us the kingdom. The kingdom of righteousness, and holiness, that shall never end.
So for the glory that was set before him he endured the cross, for yet while we were sinners he died for us.
That upon the third day according to scripture he rose from the dead giving testimony to the truth that was in him.
No. Lord Jesus did not come just be a sacrifice for sin. He came that we might have Life (John 10:10). Being forgiven is only a part of the great salvation. Jesus preached the gospel of the Kingdom, not just, "go to heaven when you die". Being forgiven is the precursor to eternal life. Eternal life is Christ Himself, who is "The Life".

Well actually John 17:3 was written by John and documented the time of Jesus walking the earth. Therefore, anything after the Hebrew scriptures would be inspired by not only from God, but his Son. And, you really would never know the Son, well unless your read the scriptures, that tells of his life and ministry. Maybe your comment was not well thought out?

Your both saying practically the same thing. Why counteract what is being said when it is good.

Knowing Scripture does not bring salvation. Having faith in Jesus Christ does.
Actually, there is a lot of things that assist in our salvation and both knowing scriptures and faith are aids. Then there is a list of many other things, knowing the Father, the Son, repentance, baptism into a clean life, etc...

If I'm saying the same thing, how can I be counteracting what the poster said? And I don't agree that I've said the same thing.

I will say that the Spirit deals directly with me apart from the written word. However, I will also say that the Spirit never contradicts the written word.

There is nothing in the Bible that tells me to turn down a particular street. The Bible won't point out to me a unit to rent and say that I will be living there. The Spirit did. I had a place to live that seemed ideal. I had no idea that arrangement would end. And yes, I did live in the unit and it was a blessing.

How do you know any of those things?
How do you know about sin or forgiveness?
How do you know of the cross?
Because without forgiveness none of us would experience the things that we do.

You might want to say that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the greatest gift which God has given to mankind (John 3:16). Paul says :"Thanks be unto God for this Unspeakable Gift!" Then we have the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then we have the gift of eternal life. Then we certainly have the gift of the Holy Scriptures. Is Christ the Word of God a greater gift than the written Word of God? Most definitely.
How do you know about this list of great things?
Where did Paul say that?
Did you hear him say that, or did you read about it?

The greatest gift from God is his love, it was from his love that the scriptures were written it is from his love that salvation is given it was from his love that his son was given and it is from his love that all creation exists, scripture is a product of his love grace is a product of his love salvation is a product of his love it all boils down to one thing one true gift that no other can best
