Can you ever stop being a child of your earthly father?

Neither can you become an un-son of God.
...but u can become unborn from God.

God's word always means ..commandments;

Scripture says...Maintain until the end (righteous until death).
Allow no man to steal your crowns.
Do not backslide in belief or righteous practices.
etc.

Ecclesiasticus 17:25. “Return unto the Lord, and forsake thy sins, make thy prayer before his face, and offend less.”. King James Version (KJV)

Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return again, my righteousness is in it. Malachi 3:7 | View whole chapter | See verse in context. Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.

There are many, many more.

If you steal a candy bar from the store, as I have, you shall not face DEATH. This Death (the consequence of the Law) has been defeated by Jesus Christ. It is the same with the Sabbath.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Therefore, we are FREE TO OBEY THE LAW.
The law was only given to Israel and there’s nothing about Gentiles needing to accept the old covenant first before accepting the new covenant.

So why would any portion of the law apply to anyone now?

Saved...is after we die and are Judged for eternal salvation.
Incorrect. The MOMENT a person believes in Christ for salvation, they are eternally secure and will NOT come into condemnation.

John 5:24 says to plainly.

On earth we are ...born again...only. One can loose ............born again .......status if backsliding occurs.
What verse do you suppose says this? Or is this just your own feeling?

Listen closely to James 2:18
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds. Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds."

I will point out that I moved the second quote mark from after the first "deeds" to after the second "deeds". I did this because the verse makes NO SENSE where all the translations place that second quote mark.

The "someone" actually says the whole verse: you have faith; I have deeds. Show me (the someone) your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith BY MY DEEDS.

iow, the "someone" begins by noting he has deeds. But the next sentence shows that he says that he can "show you" his faith BY HIS DEEDS.

This "someone" is addressing another who "has faith". So the "someone" is challenging the other person to show him his faith without any deeds.

The point is; a believer cannot show their faith apart from their deeds.

And that was the example James gave in v.15,16.
15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?

iow, it isn't any good. Words don't meet needs. Actions do.
"Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
Yep, and that didn't save him either. What is your point?

I gave you a clear explanation of James 2:18, yet you come back with this:
You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did." James 2:21-22
So, either you didn't even bother to read it, or you did and rejected it altogether. Why would you do either?

James 2:18 is a very clear summary of James' point about a dead faith. It DOESN'T demonstrate one's faith.

But ignorant pastors all over the country (and world) have misunderstood James think James was teaching that a faith without deeds doesn't save. Just plain ignorance.

James taught that a faith without deeds can't be demonstrated.

If you are saved here on earth...then what does God judge you for...." it is appointed unto man once to die...then the judgement".

Pray tell...what is God judging?

Remember....savED (is history.... If SAVED how can one then be ........judged by God ............after death?

I doubt God is happy with someone who says they can block God;s judgment.

You would do well to study scriptures.

Please verify this from Scripture. No one can be unborn. That's a one way deal, both physically and spiritually.

Both the saved and the unsaved will face judgment. The saved will be judged or evaluated to determine eternal reward. 2 Cor 5:10 The unbeliever will be judged to determine how tolerable it will be for them in the lake of fire.

That is what Jesus taught: Matt 11:24 - But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”

Pray tell...what is God judging?
Works. See above.

Google it. You are into the practice of trying to tie up God's word study by repeatidly asking for reference...which you reject...
Do a search.

Apparently you have never read John 5:24. Why don't you take your own advice?

And, while you are at it, I suggest that you study John 10:28 real hard. Maybe you'll learn that receiving eternal life results in NEVER PERISHING. So said Jesus.

Do a searfch.
Nonsense. Your obvious deflection from providing evidence proves that you don't have any.

For, if you really did, you have been happy to share it, to prove what you claim.

But you can't, so you deflect.

Where do you guys get these wild and crazy ideas from???

i know JeffA is saved and my Brother in Christ - and i love him and you as well.

Keep our focus on our Savior and the Beautiful Salvation we have in His Blood and Resurrection.

CHRIST is the ALL in ALL - there is no OTHER

all religion is sinking sand
Wild ideas? No. Merely asking for clarification on this statement of yours in a prior post to JeffA: "Then you are sin/unbelief, NOT because you choose to set aside Saturday as a day unto the LORD(which is GOOD) but because you seek to add to the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross by saying "one must obey Saturday sabbath"."

YOU MISSED IT COMPLETELY - Hebrews is speaking of CHRIST being the REST of GOD
not Saturday or Sunday

the LORD JESUS CHRIST is the REST of GOD
Screaming isn't necessary.

The Apostles knew Jesus was their rest.

They still observed the Sabbath after he returned home.

Why so angrily opposed to the Sabbath observance that you resort to screaming in an effort to make your point?

Since we have come to Christ, who does not sin??? You, me, others???

"My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world."
1 John 2:1-2

GOD is SERIOUS in this Eternal Commandment: Exodus 31

And the LORD said to Moses, 13“Tell the Israelites, ‘Surely you must keep My Sabbaths, for this will be a sign between Me and you for the generations to come, so that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. 14Keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Anyone who profanes it must surely be put to death. Whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from among his people. 15For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.
16The Israelites must keep the Sabbath, celebrating it as a permanent covenant for the generations to come. 17It is a sign between Me and the Israelites forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ”

HE has never changed HIS MIND - so what did in FACT change???

...
1 Cor 15-
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.
6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
11 Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

Paul begins by reminding the Corinthians what he had preached to them in v.1. In v.2 he tells them they ARE SAVED because they possessed the gospel that he preached.

Then, in v.3 Paul lists what he considered of "first importance". And he ends this segment by saying "this is what we preach, and this is what you believed".

So Paul was acknowledging that they were saved (v.2) because they believed (v.11)....
Paul is specifically clarifying the need to believe in Jesus' resurrection in 1 Cor. 15. He declares the Corinthians were saved by the gospel. He goes on in verse 3 to express the first part of the gospel involves Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. His mention of delivering unto them the first thing indicates there is more to the gospel message. Paul's mention of the group being baptized for the dead in verse 29 indicates water baptism was part of the message preached. Notice the connection between sins and baptism. If Jesus did not resurrect then washing away of sins could not be realized in obedience to water baptism.

"...For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:...

12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?...

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins...

29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?..."

i love it Brother - thank you - cracked me up

the Apostles no longer worshipped the sabbath week day although they continued to gather on it to witness to the Jews and all who were still under the law.....

...but u can become unborn from God.
No, you can't. If you're a Christian, born of God, a son of God, you cannot become an un-son. It's seed.

God's word always means ..commandments;
We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ.

Scripture says...Maintain until the end (righteous until death).
We're talking about Christianity.

Allow no man to steal your crowns.
Crowns are rewards, not salvation. Rewards are earned, and can be lost. Salvation is a gift, given when we confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead.

Do not backslide in belief or righteous practices.
etc.
"Backsliding" Christians can lose rewards, but not salvation.

GOD is serious, no work on HIS SABBATH REST

So you have TWO choices - either attempt to please the FATHER on saturday rest or OBEY the FATHER and Find REST purely in CHRIST.

This does not mean you cannot continue on a saturday to gather in His Name - but it does mean that that day of the week has ZERO bearing on pleasing/obeying HIM.

Those who believe they are pleasing GOD by saturday or sunday rest have miss understood the ARK of the Covenant REST.

Pray for understanding and read the Gospel of John and Acts and the Letters of the Apostles - they NEVER instruct us unto obeying saturday rest and neither did CHRIST.

AND that can only mean and point to ONE thing which is not a thing but a PERSON.
