Some time ago, my daughter told me about an exposé type of show where dentists were being investigated. A number of different people each visited several different dental offices and got completely different and wildly varying views on what needed to be done, all of it costing a lot of money, of course. In the medical profession, methods and views vary from hospital to hospital, also, and so treatment offered in one place may differ quite a bit from what would be offered in another. And of course things change over time as technological advances are made and more is understood about the functioning of a human body holistically. My oldest brother's wife had to have her gall bladder out about fifty years ago, and he may have only been slightly exaggerating to say they sliced her open pretty much from her collar bone to her pubic bone. Now for the same operation, incisions made are quite small.

The advancement of the pharmaceutical industry into the medical profession... ugh.

I have not found medical doctors to be corrupt. In my experience, I always end up getting generic meds. Even if the doctor prescribes the brand version, the insurance company may not cover it if there is a generic version. Most people will take the generic, but for some drugs there is no generic.

What I find annoying is that doctors/specialists do not want to check for issues even slightly outside their scope, and so they refer you to other specialists when all they have to do is order a few more blood tests.

The only time I have changed doctors is when they couldn't help me resolve an issue or if I believe they downplayed my concerns, but I still believe they were genuine/honest.

I haven't faced this issue but I heard that if a person's health is failing/dying, doctors want to pull the plug sooner than later. They are a bit quick with that so it is important to have an advocate in the hospital.

AMA: drugs for symptoms instead of treating root causes. They tried this with me, wanted to push drugs for bipolar symptoms when detoxing heavy metals cured me in a few months.

Dentists: I see you have a cavity, let's plug that with toxic heavy metals. And pls brush with fluoride, the active ingredient in rat poison which damages your thyroid.

You don't want to see an MD. You want to see an MD who is also a naturopath. These people worked for the doctorate but think for themselves

Every human institution has its good and bad. All are fallible. I had a lawyer who was useless while a Christian friend retained his business because of a great lawyer. I've had 3 stints in hospital in the last few years. Medical staff varied from rude and incompetent to brilliant and going way beyond what the minimum.

Whenever we deal with the world we should pray. We won't even buy take away without praying about it first. Ridiculous? The one time I neglected, the fish was overcooked like rubber. The batter was burnt. Awful.

God is interested in every aspect of our lives, even the small things. The more we get Him involved, the better things go.

Funny, I've been brushing with fluoride tooth paste for most of my 70 years. No thyroid problems at all. The fluoride compound in rat poison is not what you find in toothpaste. Sodium is a component of salt and bleach. Don't sprinkle bleach on your steak is my suggestion. But salt is essential in the right amount.

The amalgam used in tooth repair is an alloy. It's harmless, as my 60 plus year old fillings attest.

Watch out for naturopathy. Much of it is no better than witchcraft.

well here in nz I found dentists could be more corrupt since after 18 it is not free anymore and its all private and so costs a bundle.

Medical care is a bit different mostly it is free for public and there are also private providers. I am not sure why dentists are not under the umbrella of public medical care, since teeth are a part of your body and not just for cosmetic reasons. Oral health is important.

No one can answer your question because it is such a sweeping statement which is a catch all that cannot be verified. All I know is that in the country I live my wife and I are looked after by a very caring and well informed doctor that has given me no reason to distrust. The few times that I have been a hospital inpatient I have received excellent care and attention. I actually said one time that I enjoy coming here. Why wouldn't I being waited on hand and foot, meals delivered by my own personal waiter, plenty of snacks available and my own personal TV at the end of the bed.

I always feel a bit down in the mouth if I have to go to the dentist. I find the best time to go and see the dentist is tooth hurtee.

There are two types of treatments:

1. Insurance driven treatments
2. Non insurance driven treatments.

Doctors have to abide by the first one.

Yeah, of course. In previous times, doctors made money if their patients were healthy. These days, doctors make money by keeping patients ill. Take the free money (e.g. government and insurance gravy trains) away from doctors, and they'll improve. Start financially rewarding doctors who heal their patients (rather than never-ending diagnosis and treatment), and suing the quacks for blindly prescribing pharmaceutical drugs or taking BigPharma money and not declaring the conflict of interest to each and every patient, and this will prompt a big improvement, also. The medical industry is broken by design.

I am questioning the basic premise of cancer that individual genes suffer random mutations.

I am not questioning that the mutations take place or that they cause cancer, i am questioning how they could be random.

Consider the math on this. You have 20,000 active genes of which only a handful will cause cancer. A cell needs those genes to operate, so if a thousand were to "mutate" the cell would die. To get a malignant cancer you need a specific 2-3 genes to mutate in a specific way. They are not simply damaged they are damaged in a way that causes them to operate in a way that makes the cell cancerous. The odds of that happening are something on the order of 1/1,000,000,000,000. But I have actually greatly magnified those odds because you have 3.5 trillion cells and the two to three genes that are mutated must be mutated in one specific cell.

Now the odds that something like this would happen is so, so tiny that even if it did happen we wouldn't care, it would be such a rare occurrence that no one would have ever noticed it. (Imagine you have a bucket of a trillion trillion pennies. You flip the bucket over and pour them all out and three of the pennies turn up heads and all the rest are tails. That is the kind of odds we are talking about).

Obviously cancer is not that rare. One explanation would be that genetic mutations are far more common than you think. OK, but in that case death due to genetic mutation would be much more common than cancer. Think about it, cancer takes time to grow. If the cells are being ravaged by genetic mutation they would die long before the cancer could grow. That is how we kill them with radiation.

So then instead of random mutations I believe it makes much more sense mathematically if there is nothing random about this. For example all organisms have a mechanism to survive, parasites "sing a lullabye" to your immune system. Cancer spreads in your body like a fungus. Suppose carcinogens simply damage your body making it more susceptible to a fungal infection. To me that would be far more reasonable and logical than this absurd "random mutation" theory.

The odds that 1 cell out of 3.5 trillion will suffer a specific mutation to one gene out of 20,000 = 1/3,500,000,000,000 * 1/20,000

That is roughly 1 second in 2 billion years.

Agreed. Cancer is not caused by mutations. The mutations (if they even exist) are likely a result of the cancer, not the cause.

The same with viruses. A virus has never been proven to exist. The whole virus-theory of disease is based on faith, and highly reliant on the theory of evolution, which is a fraud.

Most of the medical system and science is a lie, or at best, partial-truths integrated with a series of lies.

Now that is not the odds that you would get cancer, no the odds are much, much greater because to get a malignant cancer you have to have the mutation of 2-3 specific genes. To get those odds you don't multiply by 2 or 3, no, no, no, no! you raise this to the 2nd or 3rd power!

There are not enough seconds in all of the history of the universe for it to be likely that one person would get cancer. Yet every year in the US 1.6 million Americans are diagnosed with cancer. In one year! Do you have any idea how infinitesimal the time would be for this to happen?

Not only so, if 1.6 million were diagnosed with cancer each year then you would expect billions of Americans to be dying each year due to genetic mutation of their cells.
