How the boy can know if his fiancée is someone worthy before the Creator (and vice-versa – in virtue of Proverbs make mention the boy, I speak of the perspective of the boy, but this message is valid to the girl too):

• “And, behold, there a woman met him, with the dress of a harlot and a guarded heart.” (Proverbs 7:10);
• “Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.” (Proverbs 7:25).

One of the characteristics of the girl that doesn’t have the true love in the heart is that she tries to catch the attention of the boy to herself, to her ways, to the point of he agreeing to betray his family, friends, etc., only to stay with her. Although she can appear to be spiritual, she always turns aside from the right way, the path of truth and holiness. And the worst is that, many times, he ends up following her to ruin and destruction. Many boys don’t perceive that what is coming about them is a trial of the Creator. See:

• “If a prophet rises among you, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder which he foretold to you occurs, saying, Let us go after other gods which you have not known, and let us serve them, you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For Jehovah your God is testing you to know whether you love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deut 13:1-3).

Believe in the Holy Scripture:

• “ To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them.” (Isaiah 8:20).
• “But even if we or an angel from Heaven preach a gospel to you beside what we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we said before, and now I say again, If anyone preaches a gospel to you beside what you have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8,9).

I know that there are times that we yearn for something (or someone) so much that we wish that our desires are good and our expectance, correct. Nonetheless, if they go against the concepts and values of Jesus; if their paths goes astray: from God and his law; from Christ and his Gospel; from the true church of God; from the right paths of faith, duty and worship, *keep them at bay*!!! Certainly they will hurt you!

Let there not be the least wandering thought, affection, or disposition of the mind toward these desires. Stop and come back to the first love (for Christ – Rev 2:4). Accept the warning and advice of Jeremiah:

• “Because My people have forgotten Me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused themselves to stumble in their ways from the old paths, to walk in by-paths, not in the highway, to make their land desolate and a hissing forever...” (Jer 18:15,16).
• “So says Jehovah, Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths where the good way is, and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.” (Jer 6:16).

So, have a good day in the right Way, with the right person (the one who Jesus has for you).
