Life Feels Like high School

But all the knowledge in the world means nothing after all if you are not a disciple for Jesus. For this I will not think I am better no matter the job, education or status quo then fastfood workers, cashiers etc. I think the way to go thru life is to look at others thru God's eyes and see the heart.

Perhaps should of said work feels like high school. You have the cool kids, the rich kids, mean girls , the ones that just want to get thru the day. Being older I find no need for drama and myself just want to get my work done and go home. I talk to very few women at my work seems they have a belittling look on alot of people that are not them. You see I am a porter which some seem to be beneath them. Sad because I do have more education then most people I work with or around. But never wanted to flaunt it ,to me what seems insignificant. I talk to everyone pretty much the same way. I was the same way in the military. Sure higher ranks demanded respect , but that with humor goes a long ways.
I just wonder at times why at any age some find it or think it is their right of passage to belittle others or mistreat them because of their status quo . I actually have job offers starting out making alot more then those who are seemingly rude to me or others. I have done their factory job, I have helped setup presses and read blue prints. But find the job tedious and atm hotter then being a porter(AKA as house keeper ) .

I think the Christians who truly realize that income, job, race, etc. don't matter don't act cliquish and they treat everyone with respect. However, sometimes I feel that, despite knowing these factors do not matter in the end, some issues are outside the comfort zone. One time my pastor made a joke. There were two babies recently born in the church (one from a rich family, another in wedlock from a poor single mom (also somewhat loose) of a different race), and my pastor joked that maybe they'll get married one day. There was definitely some uncomfortable reaction from the church. It seems like, some issues just make people (even well-meaning people) too uncomfortable.

Way off topic, but speaking of school, should there be freedom of choice in which parents could send their children to private schools instead of public schools? Let's face it, there's a lot of anti-Christian and pro LGBT/Woke indoctrination going on in our public school system. Furthermore, many public schools underperform, academically, when compared to private schools. And parents tax dollars are paying for this kind of crappola.

Note that teacher's unions across the country are against 'school choice' because it would make them change their curriculum to fit parents desires. School choice, competition, would eliminate a lot of 'teacher union' power and would force public school teachers improve their academic performance.

Of course, the teacher's unions have the full support of the Democratic Party. The Dems kowtow to them to get their large voting bloc. But this is only hypocrital support from the Dems. Almost all high ranking Dem politicos sent their own children to private schools, to include Biden, Pelosi, and Obama.. School choice is for them but not for common people.


My solution would be to let parents choose where to send their children, to include religious schools. For instance, if the state has allocated $10,000 for a child's public school year, the parents should be able to use that money to send their children to a private school. Just my opinion.

You said it right the first time. Life. It can be observed in the corporate environments. It is also seen in small towns and governments. Kids start young in the public school systems desiring attention from peers.
Even the modern non bully and inclusive efforts are interpreted by the kids as another way to get attention from others. It never changes because the human heart is bent toward this need for affirmation from peers.

The same thing is repeated in the New Testament when we observe the culture of the wealthy and their banquets and seating arrangements. Inviting guests that are well to do. The scratch my back, I'll scratch yours culture. Jesus said to reach out to the outcasts and the ones that can't do anything for you. Jesus turned their whole culture upside down. He is still doing that.

We are called to invite the poor, blind, lame, crippled, to our feasts and not expect anything in return. People don't want to that. They want to hang out with the rich in hopes of getting ahead of others. We called it social climbers in High School. It never ends. It's a heart problem that does not go away without salvation and a changed heart and mind.

It all becomes repulsive to the born again Christian. Then the restlessness sets in. A desire to escape the society in which one has found themselves embedded.

As far as the whole high school thing is concerned, I hear you.

Quite frankly, nobody gave a damn about me back then, and nobody (other than Christ) gives a damn about me now.

It is what it is, and, somehow, God's grace is sufficient.
