Some years ago, I had a dream. In it, I was Lazarus, coming out of the tomb. I had cloths wrapped around me, covering me completely except for my eyes. I heard Lord Jesus say that the cloths had to come off. I was horrified. I knew that I'd been in the grave for 3 days and my skin was decomposing.

Someone started to remove the cloths. I was afraid of what I would look like, but as the light fell on my skin, it became like a new born baby's skin. Then I woke up.

Many Christians are so focused on sin that they miss the real problem. We are dead. The spirit within is the real "me", but it died to God when Adam ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Everyone born of woman, apart from Jesus, is dead also. This is the reason that universal reconciliation is false. Even if every sin of every man was forgiven (as it can be potentially), it does not resolve the problem of death. God is the God of the living, not the dead.

We are made alive to God when we are born again. It is then that Lord Jesus calls us out of the tomb. It is then that the process of being delivered begins. It is then that we need the light to shine on us and heal the soul.

The church should be like those who helped the risen Lazarus. Who is not like him, wrapped in habits and sinful ways? The church should be graciously helping the new believer to be free. Many are afraid of being exposed. Yet it is the light of God's word that heals and delivers. We need to keep in mind that all who are born again are precious to God. Those who are harsh and judgemental are at risk of being overwhelmed by temptation themselves.

The real gospel message is in Luke 4:18. If all we do is focus on "thou shalt not", we are no better than the Pharisees. Jesus came that we might have life. (John 10:10). We should never lose sight of that

Lazarus was in the grave for 4 days.

so in your dream, was the '3 days' a reassurance, identifying you as having been crucified & buried with Christ?
so that you would also rising with Him?

They shall be judged accordingly. They don't like that now, being judged
in the same way they judge others, and they will like it even less later.

“The real gospel message is….

“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭

“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, that thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. …..And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,full of grace and truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1, 14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

by whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:”

Yes. When I was born again, I knew something had happened, but I did not know what. I was different, but I did not know why. Now I know. The Jews believed that the soul remained with the body for 3 days, after which there was no hope for the person who had died. That's why Jesus delayed for so long. If I go by my feelings, there are days (not often now) when I don't feel at all crucified with Christ. Yet I am, not because of what I've done, but because God included me in Christ. Likewise I have been raised with Him, so I have new life right now. I'm still learning new aspects of that great salvation 50 years later.

You miss the point. This is what Jesus said:

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners........."

Jesus the son of GOD, the messiah, came also to preach the coming kingdom of GOD but people seem to forget this...

“I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” (Luke 4:43)

The real reason Jesus came was to save us from sin. We can never forget that. Remembering our sinfulness keeps us humble before the Lord.

Even after we're regenerated we still carry around the body of sin. We should help each other overcome sin but in the process we should never imagine we can be perfect in this life. That's why we hope; our hope is in heaven, not this life. If we can become perfect in this life why hope for heaven?

Exactly!

The difference is in being sin focused or Christ focused. Paul said he keeps His eyes on the 'prize' which is most certainly not sin!

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.
John 10:10

If God continually looked upon sin as some seem to think, we would still be under the curse of the law; but He sees us sinless in Christ; forgiven and His child.

Don't let sin weigh you down if you are a believer. This is a major manipulation of the enemy. You should be rejoicing that your sins are forgiven and when we do sin, we know that we have forgiveness in our Savior. See yourself as a 'saint' as Paul calls those to whom he wrote much of the New Testament and not a sinner. You are no longer a sinner. You are a saint in Christ!

And lest someone believes I am speaking about anything other than what scripture states loud and clearly ~ no I am not.
