How should we judge gay marriage?

This is a non sequitor. Civil rights are enumerated in the constitution. Slavery was a violation pf that document and it took a war to enforce it.

I would like to suggest you begin a study about slavery. And then move on after that to the start of slavery in the Colonies. [America.]

It wil l take quite a bit of time however, if you keep at it you'll know all about the practice. And in particular you will know about slavery as it existed on America.

Already done.
Sure slavery was before the constitution. However once the constitution was ratified slavery was a stark violation of the document .

I'm not sure you know what the subject is.
Marriage was never the estate of the state. It was a authoritarian over reach for them to take authority over marriage. It happened in the early 1900s. If you understood the two estates then you would understand what I am saying.
Civil rights enumerated in the constitution are not rights granted by govco but established as natural rights not to be violated by ... Slavery as it was in the Americas has always been a violation of natural rights.
Govco interjection into marriage is also a violation.
