are you applying the things Jesus taught in the gospel while you wait though ?

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;

and all these things shall be added unto you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

While we’re waiting we’re meant to be his disciples as far as start learning what he taught do for instance we want to practice the things he said to do we don’t need to wait for that part

for instance

“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we need to start letting this conform us and everything he taught and start seeking the kingdom and e righteousness of Christ as we don hat it’s amazing how faith begins to come forth and manifest things we didn’t even imagine in life

we want to wait while we’re walking in the gospel it’s where all the blessing is
Ties directly into what i said before its good though

That should attract the ladies.

:giggle:
Yea that could work or you could just be more "open" to them, you know show them you have a sensitive side literally lol.

I'm doing what I know to do. But I still feel like I'm melting from a mixture of negative emotions. We're all designed differently. I'm not living up to the way God designed me. Anyone who is in that place will struggle. John the Baptist is a good example of this.

John the Baptist was designed to be 'open and free'. God raised him up in the wilderness in a spacious place and unencumbered by the presence of lots of people and with them carnal living. But after John condemned Herod for taking Herodias, Herod's own brother's wife, Herodias demanded that John be thrown in prison. Because he was designed to be 'open and free', John's stint in prison was especially difficult for him to the point that thought he'd several times testified that Jesus was the Messiah in the past and even pointed people to Him, John began to doubt that Jesus was in fact the Messiah and sent some of his disciples to ask Jesus if He indeed was the Messiah. Jesus sent them back to assure John that He was the Messiah. (Matthew 11:2-6.) As happened with Elijah, who ran from Jezebel not because he was scared of her but because he was tired of living as a fugitive, John was swallowed by the depression of being in a prison and therefore was unable to see things clearly or to make sense of the very things he himself knew to be true.

Similarly, Paul was designed to fly with the wind and to labor until labor got tired of having him around. But Paul was later thrown in prison and couldn't fly freely. He doesn't write much about this, but it must have been very difficult for him as he-- like John-- was very adverse to be tied down, chained, or restricted. I'm doing what I know to do for now though my circumstances of waiting are so adverse to my design as a person. But as Job said, "All the days of my hard service, I will wait until my change comes" (14:14).

Yes, we all have times of weakness and despair. Because of this, God wants us to be there for each other. I love you, dear brother.

I will pray for you.

brother we aren’t that different actually what your saying here sounds like my own life. We all struggle at times and none of us is worthy or have ax to ally lives up to the price Jesus paid for us

Jesus is all about becoming a disciple this doesn’t mean we already know everything and already are acting just right , it just means we believe ge is the lord and savior , and so we commit to him and learn from his words and begin to follow the things we do learn a we are learning then slowly through time and over a lifetime we just grow constantly and get better but sometimes it ties a down period to cause growth

it’s truly like a garden that grows and natures and changes over time . Take heart brother your bo dofferent from any other Christian your making your way home by following the light it doesn’t matter how far along we are it matters that we’re headed in the proper direction Jesus will handle the rest remember as we struggle he’s always working in Us through his word to change us and make us able

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭

as we accept the gospel it’s changing how we think , changing the things we crave and want conforming what’s not right in us to his Will expressed through the gospel this changing of our inside operation thoughts and understanding is what leads us eventually to better things

I don’t think John the Baptist is a great example, but I can totally relate by my pet experiences when I was a younger man to what you are saying I could have written that myself at one time and even now days in my old days there are things I realize I fell short on weekly pretty much

but the gospel is for us imperfect people it’s Jesus calling us gently into a better way

I wasn’t meankng to ask if you were perfect and holy and all that , just wondering if your pursuit is Jesus and his kingdom first and how doing that is what opens the floodgates to focus on us becoming a little more like Jesus , to
Make our way to follow after his ways and word Is what pleases God because he knows it will save us if we believe

I'll answer your question above about putting Jesus first. But first, I want to say that I don't like answering questions about whether I love God, whether I'm walking in obedience, whether Jesus is number one in my life, etc. The reasons why are a.) the answers for those questions aren't always simple, and b.) many times in christian circles, those questions only invite christians to wax more righteous than they really are. I haven't yet heard one christian say they hate God, but many do-- sometimes for justifiable reasons, but they still won't say it and will put their best foot forward.

I've been pursuing God since March 1998 after I had a sudden encounter with Him. However, my pursuit of Him isn't due to some goodness or godliness or righteousness of my own. I'll use two practical examples to show why I've pursued and put God and His Kingdom first since 1998:

1.) A toddler is apt to be enthralled with marbles. He/she doesn't know any better. But as they get older, if they were to see diamonds, then marbles would no longer impress them. This is simply because diamonds look far better than marbles, and as the child grows, they'll also find out that diamonds are far more valuable than marbles.

2.) "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and Grace." That chorus probably best summarizes my experience after March 1998. I grew up in church and was a christian who shrugged about church. But after my encounter with God, church grew "strangely dim" because now there was God to compare church to, and believe me, there is just no comparison. My appetite for church was obliterated.

In the summer, when it's really sunny outside, you go sit on the front lawn or on the deck. Or maybe you go play some football or basketball or take a walk or ride a bike. You spend a long time in the sun. Then you go back home. You left all the lights off in your house because it's daytime. But when you return home after being in the sun for a while, suddenly, your house is dark. Of course, it's not really dark at all. It's just that after being in the much more superior light of the sun, your eyes adjusted to and became accustomed to it which now makes it plainly apparent that the light in your house is inferior. I put God first because everything else is inferior to God by lightyears. I didn't put Him first because the Bible told me to or because I'm a godly person.

this is all I was wondering about you personally

“I've been pursuing God since March 1998”

the reason I asked is because that’s where the blessings are when we are doing that

I wasn’t asking about your personal deeds or what you do daily I was asking if your eyes re on the gospel while your waiting that’s all I was curious about

it’s why I sort of pointed out what I wasn’t asking about .

I was wondering if you were focused on the old testament , or the gospel because in the old testsment the blessings are all earthly , and it doesn’t offer what our testament does

Was just curious about whether you were pursuing God through Christ and the gospel , or just expecting blessing apart from that
you already answered what I was wondering but I’m. Ot sure I’m able to be clear most often and not sure you understood what I was asking

either way I’d like to join you in prayer regarding the things you’ve been waiting for is that’s alright

sometimes another Christian’s agreement in prayer makes a difference

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:19‬ ‭

in no way was I trying to judge you or anything brother , I was trying to understand your inquiry and post and was just wondering if you were pursuing the thing or Jesus which again you’ve already answered

our own works aren’t anyone else’s business honestly we all have only one to answer for for our wrongs and the things we’ve done right none of us have any place judging or condemning or pretending we don’t have our own flaws and issues we’re working on

was just trying to give you an informed opinion

I was just thinking about Elijah when he prayed for rain it didn’t come right away , but each day in faith he sent a man to look and see if it looked like rain was coming no clouds yet , so then he sent him day after day and then “ there’s just one little cloud in the sky ……eventually the rains let loose and a three and a half year drought ended by a mans prayer and his faith in God to bring it to pass

when we don’t see it happening , it’s a test of our faith

I never pursued God for the blessings. I pursued Him for Him. (In the same way, I don't value human beings for anything more than that they're human. You can't be attractive enough, confident enough, rich enough, popular enough (etc.) for me to look at you with more value than you actually have as a human being.) I can get the blessings by myself and don't need to ask God for them; but apparently, God wants to give me far more blessings than I can get on my own.

If a man really loves a woman (the imperfect way humans love), it's not for what she can do for him but is simply that he loves her. And if a woman really loves a man, it's not about what he can do but who he is.

I don't focus on OT or NT. I don't get truth from 'trusted sources'. I follow this admonition in every aspect of life, not just regarding the Bible or God:

"whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things" (Philippians 4:8).

In all of life, if it falls under 'good report' (which doesn't mean it's necessarily 'positive', because God's judgments are 'good'), then it's no enemy of mine.

Yes, you can pray for me about those promises.

And don't worry. I could care less (and endeavor to care even less) what people think of me or if they condemn me. I'd rather see the whole world go up in flames than start letting other people intrude on my personal freedom.

As for Elijah's persistent prayer, sometimes all you have is persistence. God has told me to knock and keep knocking until the door opens. Can't do much else. But whereas when I entered college I wanted to be a millionaire by a certain age, I've had my goals detained long enough to change my mind. Now, I won't and cannot settle for just millions. Before, I was simply planning for millions; now I'm refusing anything in the millions. I refuse. Pray about that too.

yeah that’s good that’s how it works

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the things God us planned for us come as a result of pursuing Jesus for who he is and what he’s done to save our souls

that was sort of what I was wondering thanks for bearing with me God bless keep the faith
