On the chat app, there has been, maybe 2 people that have tried witnessing to me. I say maybe 2, because the user name or user names isn't something that I can pronounce.
Him or They, comes from the angle that because my user name is Seeking-Christ, that I must be looking for Jesus, and He or They have found Jesus.
It is really interesting, and I found it offensive, on how they lean into this. They will ask me if I'm still looking or if I found him yet. Which tells me right away what they are thinking... I told them, the right way to do this, is to ask me what my user name means to me.
Here is the problem with this, as far as I know, I am stuck with this user name for as long as I use this account.
Anyways, when people ask me if I'm a Christian or not. I often have trouble answering this. Because I want to give a correct and accurate answer.
Christian means follower of Christ. But under my theology. The theology I was taught in church growing up, a person can walk away from Jesus and then come back, and then walk away, and then come back. And you can just keep doing this. Because God doesn't take away the freewill you had when you first asked him to save you. That is why I don't know if I'm saved or not. Because I do commit sin. It's not something big that everyone sees. But God knows that inside of me, that I'm not completely pure. Where as God is a 100 percent pure! So in this sense, my user name "Seeking-Christ" makes sense.
Sometimes when people ask me if I'm a Christian. I will say. Back in 1986 at the age of 6 I asked Jesus into my heart. In 1999 I was water baptized. But the reality is after I asked Jesus into my heart, I tried to live right. But I've always had trouble with internal sins.
If you ask me if I'm a Christian? I haft to say that I am a believer, and I try to be a good person. Yes I pray, and Yes I'm in the scriptures. But I'm not perfect. So do with that as you will.
