Both Cruz & DeSantis are professional politicians. Both have done some good things but I can't shake the feeling that they are clinging to Trumps coat tails and doing the least amount they can while trying to get as much recognition as they can.
I doubt either one could or would do what Trump did if either got elected President. Either one would probably make an OK vice President.
100% agree with you! They talk about needing new blood. Trump was the new blood, like you stated the others are career politicians and the country needed a change. Those 2 need to stay in their lanes. Its very premature to even think of DeSantis as POTUS right now, let alone Cruz.

Unimportant to me. If it's RED, I'll vote for it.

If you have 100 voters, 10 of them stay home. That leaves 90 voters. 40 of them vote for one candidate, 50 vote for the other. That's 90 votes. The ones who didn't vote don't count. You can't say coulda, woulda, shou
Disney went 'woke' and paid the price.
Okay, whatever that means.

If the corrupted FBI comes away with any illegally kept documents from Trump's Florida home, I'll know the FBI planted them there just like crooked cops will plant drugs or a gun on a targeted victim. After ignoring Hillary deleting emails that had been subpoenaed, and the Russia collusion farce, the fraudulent impeachment of the phone call to Zelensky, and the Jan. 6th clown show in the House, I'd not put anything past these communists in DC. It may be a good thing we do still have the 2nd Amendment because it looks like it will eventually be needed if the next two elections do not turn this around. I still have the hope this raid on Trump's home may backfire on the deep state and give conservatives and Constitutionalists more votes!

As far as riding Trump's coattails anyone who has even a chance of winning will need Trump's endorsement. Trump will play the role of kingmaker and they are wise enough to recognize that fact.

At the same time anyone who is going to win has to keep a certain distance from Trump too... And the person who rides the line correctly will be the next president - providing this is a free and fair election.

No one is going to go toe to toe with the establishment the way Trump did. Nor do we need them to. We have the Supreme Court now for a generation, and there's not much that is going to take Trump's fighting style, we can fight quietly and behind the scenes more right now, and it's what people want by and large. They want and need a break from the constant nonsense.

I think as a result either pick would be great, but DeSantis is probably going to just edge out Cruz... Cruz just does too much grandstanding and for too long.

.........
As a personal health update I went to the doctor today and got medicine... Hopefully doing better soon.

I personally think they are wanting a civil war, why else would they want your guns right? But like you said this is going to backfire on them and Trumps popularity will increase.

Oh you mean the 'mean tweets'? Cmon you see worse on this site. Its the policies that count.
NO! I am not talking about his tweets. His repeated uses of full words of B.S. and F..... It is so low-class and unbefitting a leader. I'm being more and more turned off by so many Trump endorsed Republicans. It surely is low class and crude to use the sexual slang BDE (had to go to urbandictionary to see what it meant) in reference to DeSantis and Trump, as Kari Lake is reported to have done. I do not vote for a woman to any office above school boards. I've already voted against a Trump endorsed woman in the GOP primary. If a GOP woman is up against a Democrat in November, I'll just not vote on that office. I can only do so based on the Holy Scriptures, and then leave the results to the Almighty in his wise plan.

"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." (Deut 29:29, KJV)

I find the role of women clearly defined in the Bible. I find no place where men are told to "choose" a leader or ruler. This has been supported all though history in agreement with Scripture. If God ordains a woman to office, that is his secret business, but I am not biblically permitted to vote for a woman in leadership or rule. When women rule, it is a sign of God's judgment, Isa. 3:12. Trump's attorney is female and his spiritual advisor is supposedly the woman posing as a pastor by the name of Paula White. I do not really believe it is going to make any difference who we vote for without a true Holy Spirit empowered revival of his people very soon.

Yes, the women in my family mostly disagree, but they don't use the lame excuse that the Bible was written in a patriarchal culture so we can ignore God's word. Culture can help understand Scripture but it cannot be used to deny the teachings of Scripture.

The actions of Govenor DeSantis as executive of Florida are more and more impressing me very positively. While I've voted for Trump twice and will a third time if he is the nominee against a Democrat in 2024, I'm beginning to hope Trump changes his mind about running in 2024.

I am so turned off by Trump's foul language in the rallies and then his playing the God-honoring candidate at the same rally(James 1:26, 3:10,11). Governor DeSantis has shown a maturity and decency in office and stands up for traditional, biblical values. I wonder how many are having this rethink about Donald Trump? I know we are not choosing a Pastor or Theologian as President, but yet the 'public mouth' reveals so much about a man.
:) president Trump is Trump. That's him and we that like to think we are some how a better believer.. just no one gets to see us out in the open and then what has happened to him since 2014 and his whole family. But he loves Jesus Christ as lord.. as of late said to God alone he bows. Now I agree Gov DeSantis looks awesome yet.. I know nothing about him. So many once they hit that White House change.. Trump did he kept almost all of his word. I can still see Obama before he was president.. oh talked like he love Jesus Christ and told everything he was going to do. He about flipped on all of it.

So God will use what He wants iF we pray yet in the end God will use who He wants and that has really upset His people through out time :) I want whats best for this nation not what I want

Trump has always used foul language but it had become increasingly worse. If he continues using variations of the "f" word in rallies, I'll vote one of the other parties, but not Democrat. I actually believe the USA is already lost. It is evidenced clearly by so many things, but one major thing is women taking over the lead. The church knew and taught, and world history for thousands of years showed, God put men in the leadership position, in the rule:

"Then he said to the woman, 'I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.'” Gen. 3:16 NLT.... compare to Gen. 4:7 and you see the NLT tranlation makes it clear.
then there is the following when God described judgment on Israel
"My people—children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you, and confuse the course of your paths." (Isa 3:12, NRSV) that judgment on Israel over the entire passage mirrors what we see in the USA, and the west in general.

Trump said at the rally last night that he was a strong supporter of the woman's movement... I believe the country is lost because of the church, the apostate churches of today. If 2 Chron. 7:14 was sincerely obeyed by us, the church, maybe revival could come. But churches are either so anti-God and anti-Bible, or they can't get their mind off this heresy of Christian Zionism, Dispensationalism and their focus on Christ rejecting Israel. I know I'll get a lot of 'thumbs up on this'! LOL
I agree wholeheartedly that it is the failure of the church over a long period of time. I was encouraged by the Supreme Court decision and perhaps now is a time when the people of God will follow the admonition in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Have you ever considered starting a prayer group?

I couldn't care less about '24. I'll vote RED regardless, and I won't bother with "primaries". Oh - and I'll trust the electoral system about as far as I can throw it.

I've been studying the book of Judges of late and it surely is a sad portrait of Israel. Even some judges were not so righteous, Samson a womanizer and even Gideon causing idolatry. The last verse of the book describes it well - "In those days, there was no king in Israel,––every man did, that which was right in his own eyes." (Judg 21:25)

In considering the state of the USA and the west in general, I can't help but to feel sadness as well. I found a Psalm that uplifted me and set my focus in the right direction, where the righteous in Christ have their hope -

"Praise ye Yah, Praise, O my soul, Yahweh. I will praise Yahweh while I live! I will make melody to my God while I continue!

Do not ye trust in nobles, in a son of man who hath no deliverance: His spirit, goeth forth, he returneth to his ground, In that very day, his thoughts perish.

How happy is he that hath the GOD of Jacob as his help, whose hope, is on Yahweh his God:–– Who made The heavens and the earth, The sea and all that is therein, Who keepeth faithfulness to times age–abiding: Who executeth justice for the oppressed, who giveth food to the famishing, Yahweh, who liberateth prisoners; Yahweh, who opened [the eyes of] the blind, Yahweh, who raiseth the prostrate, Yahweh, who loveth the righteous; Yahweh, who preserveth sojourners, The fatherless and widows, he relieveth,––but, the way of the lawless, he overturneth. Yahweh, will reign, to times age–abiding, Thy God, O Zion, to generation after generation. Praise ye Yah!" (Ps 146:1-10)

The translation quoted is the Rotherham's Emphasized Bible, underlined is what caught my attention.

That's always been one of my biggest criticisms of trump is that he seems to have absolutely no concept of professional decorum. And he speaks like he has a third grade education

Trump is a con artist. That's why he's currently being sued by the state of New York for fraudulent business practices and for tax fraud
Overvaluing properties for loan purposes ECT
.. as for election fraud, there's a reason every judge throughout Trump's lawsuits, even Republican judges that Trump appointed
It's a nothing Burger

I'll be voting for a Democrat for the first time in over 30 years.

President Trump endorsed a female by the name of Anna Paulina Luna (Mayerhoffer) to run for Congress from the 13th District in Florida. Even if I would ever vote for a woman, in denial of explicit Scripture commands that the man is the head of the family and head of government; I could never vote for this one. I give you two links to see what sort of person Donald Trump has endorsed.

I had intended to just omit voting for this office, but I've come to believe it is more important to try preventing her from being elected in the expected "Red Wave". It is better to have a Democrat represent me than a mentally unbalanced female!

What are you talking about? Biden got 81 million votes, that is stunning, truly unbelievable.

You can't do better than that. Follow his formula. Put the guy in the basement, don't campaign, just make sure you have the best fraud department ever assembled. With that formula you could put a guy with dementia into the presidency.

That's if he even runs a second time because he had said he doesn't want to run a second time and that's assuming he gets the nomination if he does run again

I've gone from considering Ron DeSantis to run for the GOP nomination for President, to 100% backing him to run. Trump's gutter mouth and his recent nicknaming Ron as DeSanctimonious plus DeSantis' impressive win yesterday convinces me he is the better choice. Apparently most of the candidates Trump endorsed in other states lost, and I strongly disapproved of who he endorsed for Congress in my District, but sadly she won. I am more convinced now, after the election yesterday, that the USA is definitely under the judgment of Almighty God. I have a suggestion, enact a federal law that any State that cannot have their votes counted by noon the day following the election, that State will not have any Senator or Congressman sworn in. Let those incompetent and/or corrupt States lose their representation. Florida, even after dealing with hurricane Ian and a new storm approaching, had the State's votes tallied quickly.

I was born, raised and still live in Florida.

Governor DeSantis is by far the best governor that the state has ever had.

His ability to manage a crisis makes him the perfect candidate for president. He will have my support.
