When I was 5 years old I stood up in church and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior and got baptized but after that I just forgot about Jesus Christ and God and went on living without ever having a relationship with God, Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit and now here I am 29 years old barely having a relationship with God and I hate that that is what happened when I was 5 years old cause thinking about it right now I would love to have had Jesus Christ and God in my life when I was 5 years old all the way up to right now where I'm 29 years old. I would love to have made God like a best friend where I talked to him every day and he talked to me and when I was in trouble or had any type of problems or anything happen to me I could talk to God and I would love to have known God and have had that type of relationship with him where I talked to him and had conversations with him and walked with him when I was 5 years old growing up all the way up to now. I hate that I didn't do that. I hate that I just forgot about Jesus Christ and God when I was 5 years old after I got baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior and that just now I'm trying to develop a relationship with him Hopefully I can still develop a similar relationship with God as an adult.

Hey I just looked at your profile and saw youre female, not sure why I thought you were a guy all this time. Anywho of course you can still have a relationship with God as an adult. I love how you thinking of when you were 5 it reminds you of a good place in your life. I will let the others talk more about it and I will just say a quiet prayer for you, I had read some of your posts and just had this feeling your desire is there but like a lot of us, just need that push to keep going :)

Yep. You can. You're still breathing? You still can do it. It is important though to get some good Christian fellowship, as that will provide you with the help you need to seek Him and maintain that walk.

I like your handle.
I'm a teacher of combat/martial arts/self defense, and am especially aware that spiritual combat is necessary.
It also reminds me of what happens to so many at an early age. Sometimes they are led in a prayer and don't have a full understanding. I have a video that I've posted for others here lately that might be a blessing and an answer to the question you have. Feel free to ask me anything you want about that after prayerfully watching this short message to a class in South America.

If only we had the foresight, life experiences, wisdom, and knowledge as 5 year olds to know what would have benefited us 24 years later. Some people go their entire lifespan and never quite figure it out. You’re so blessed. So welcome back and where you are now is always a good place to begin again with God.

It's fine to remember, and even regret your past.

But just think, your rear view mirror is about 1/40th the size of your forward windshield. Glance at your past, but keep your main focus forward on the present and the future.

God is patiently waiting to rush into your arms.

Welcome, and God Bless!

I made the same commitment when I was 7 and ran away until I was 40. I too regret my "missing years" but remain encouraged and joyful. Just because I ran from Him dos not mean He ran from me. Just the opposite. I look back and recognize all the many, many times He was with me even while I was oblivious to Him. It's like he knew all along how the adventure would turn out.
