Matt 9:16-17 Old cloth/old covenant - New cloth/new/covenant (17) new wineskins/new covenant. Don't mis um! (Also see: Mk 2:21-22, Lk 5:36-17)

Rev 3:
15 I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot!

16 So, because you are lukewarm & neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

Hot = New Covenant: Grace thru Faith - Cold = Old Covenant Law by works. Lesson: Mixing the two covenants makes the Christ, want to throw-up (Rev 3:16)

Read Deut 28:15-66 The Lord say's IF YOU do (x,y,z) I WILL. The old law covenant demanded self-works. The New Christ mediated new blood covenant supplies everything needed thru faith.

Gal 4: 4 But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the [regulations of the] Law
(MY NOTE: Christ born of a woman, born under law regulations. Jesus lived by Mosaic law, faithfully kept all 619 & preached the Law to "Those under the Law"

Not one living person today, Jew or Gentile, has ever been under the old Mosaic law covenant.

Peter called Mosaic laws an unable to endure yoke (Acts 15:8-10) Paul called Mosaic law the ministration of death (2 Cor 3:7 & the ministration of condemnation vs 9)

While Christ is alive His in the flesh/earthly mission is to Jews under the law only. Scripture doesn't lie:

Matt 4:23 The Lord Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their (JEWS) synagogues preaching the gospel of the kingdom,

Matt 10:5 The Lord Jesus sends the 12 & commanded them. Don't! go to Gentiles,

Matt 10:6 The Lord Jesus commands the 12: Only go! To lost sheep of the house of Israel,

Matt 15:24 The Lord Jesus said, He's only been sent to preach to the lost sheep of the house of Israel,

Rom 15:8 Paul teaches, Messiah was sent to preach to the circumcision (JEWS),

Bible study 101: Who is speaking, to whom is he speaking, what is he speaking about. Jesus is speaking to Jews only, about repentance of "returning to God". Not! About confessing every personal sin. Their God given sacrificial system dealt with covered/sins.

Eph 2:12 remember that at that time you were separated from Christ [excluded from any relationship with Him], alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise [with no share in the sacred Messianic promise and without knowledge of God’s agreements], having no hope [in His promise] and [living] in the world without God.

(MY NOTE: Pre-Christ's sin atoning death & resurrection ALL gentiles were viewed as impure, godless dogs, without hope, bastards living outside of covenant seals)

Matt 7:6 The Lord Jesus said, give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
(MY NOTE: Dogs, swine & gentiles all considered unclean/impure under Mosaic Law)

Matt 15:22-26, Vs 26 Jesus calls the Canaanite/gentile women a DOG!
(ME NOTE: Note: In Jesus [a Jew] day gentiles were considered to be godless & ceremonially unclean. The reference "dog" was a commonly known & used expression within the Jewish culture.

Jn 18:28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the (roman/gentile) hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the Passover.
(MY NOTE: Just being in the gentile Hall of Judgment made a Jew UNCLEAN!)

Acts 10:28 Peter tells Cornelius a gentile. Under Mosaic law (which Jesus taught & faithfully kept) IT'S UNLAWFUL for a Jew to keep company with a gentile. Under Mosaic law gentiles were seen as unclean, bastards outside covenant seals.

We can't broad brush repent & be baptized (OT/covenant doctrine) or confess every sin after conversion. Onto today's (NT/covenant) body of Christ believer.

The notion promoted by theses modern day 1/2 grace, 1/2 law Pharisees. Claiming Jesus ministry was to everyone is false! That doesn't mean we can't glean spiritual truths from all scripture:

Rom 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
MY (NOTE: ALL scripture is written for our LEARNING. ALL scripture isn't written for our DOCTRINE. Example: NT believers aren't required to bring an animal sin sacrifice to Temple Priests)

Here is where a most wonderful change is found:

Acts 10:43-44 While Peter spoke the Holy Spirit fell on all of them which heard the word.
(MY NOTE: They Believed (vs43) & as Peter spoke (vs44) The Holy Spirit fell on them (vs45). No repentance of any kind here, No water baptism, No circumcision, they brought no sin sacrifice to the Temple, No law keeping, no sin confessions.

If you'll read chapter 10. Peter preached the sin atoning death & resurrection to these Gentiles. And by Faith & faith alone they Christ baptizes them with His eternal salvation sealing Holy Spirit)

All praise, glory & honor belong to our Great God & Savior, Jesus the Christ! AMEN & Amen.
