It's funny but hardly applies to

I was just joking. Isn't heaven to be populated by a number no man can number?
It's not how many are there, but how they got there. Many get an image of millions disappearing in the rapture. Honestly I think that number will actually be negligible.

Is scripture not intended to instruct us on how to live? And is how we live not an integral part of current events? If we are warned about future events are we really supposed to just ignore those warnings? Sounds like the servant who buried his talents in the ground.
You are very talented at twisting the words of others to redefine others thoughts. The scripture is very profitable for all times...2 Timothy 3:16...but looking at current events and not scripture would only apply if current events are the fulfillment of scripture. Every generation has thought itself to be the last. Better to see how God used the terms used in Revelation in the OT than what your fertile imagination might engineer

How do you know they are future? They were written to first century saints who were told they would shortly come to pass

That itself seems very twisty and turny.

I'm not allowed to have my own view? Seems we all do...
I agree and everyone is welcome to their own opinion. A wise man is never daunted by the number of views people hold. Mostly he is just saddened by it.

One thing I look for is Biblical patterns and precedents.

God offered the Jews the Messiah. They rejected Him. They then paid in 70 AD tribulation.

God offers the world a Christ. The world is rejecting Him. Is it not reasonable to believe the world will suffer tribulation for it like the Jews did? How does one figure the world will get a pass when the Jews didn't?

"Shortly" is a relative term. Going back to what you said before, yes every generation has thought theirs was it. And in a way it was. I see that heart attack, that car crash, that 'your-ticket-is-punched moment as your rapture, whether it happens now or 1,000 years ago.

The thing that sets it as now for me is, people have never had the technology before now to have a true world event. 1,000 years ago news from europe took weeks if not months to reach america. Now it happens in milliseconds. That's the stand out feature that makes me think now is more likely than then.

But what do I know.

Even when they're not meant to be apparently lol
I'm actually enjoying the repartee. Most people by this time are at each other's throats or have thrown up their proverbial arms.

I see the parallels you are drawing and they could be correct but there are to me more plausible explanations based on the same type of reasoning you are using. And if you truly believe shortly can mean 2000 years can you spot me a 50 and I'll pay you back shortly?

Again, we have repeated scriptures saying in the end false prophets will come in God's name to deceive His people and draw them away from His truth.

I look at the state of things and I see leaders claiming to be from God but embracing mammon worship, self idolatry, cheating of workers, abandoning the truly sick and poor, and spreading lies and hypocrisies.

I see a direct connection in the conflation of the Cross and the elephant.

But again, maybe that's just me.

A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as is a day. Which one is shortly?

You can have the rest of my time here, but so far God hasn't obliged me on previous offers.

Slander is evil speaking, but if the motive is to divide the country then he is a divisive man. The reason the country is being divided with class warfare and all this other stuff is that we do not turn away from these ones after the second admonition. If all of America did that then MSNBC, CNN, Facebook and Twitter would have all gone bankrupt a year ago.
apparently, 'if' really is the biggest little word

But that's the point. AAAAAALllll them scriptures that say false prophets will draw His elect away from Him. Many who THINK they are with Him will find out they really aren't.
I hear sirens when I read some of your posts o_O
