In this Scripture reading, Jesus tells us that if we don't remain in him, if we don't bear fruit that we will be pruned from the vine and thrown into the fire. Jesus says that we must bear fruit to remain in Him. Jesus says that we must remain in Him and His words, teachings.

Bearing fruit and remaining in Jesus words is more than 'Faith Alone'. If we and our faith don't bear fruit we will be cut off. What does this mean?

15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words

John 15:1-7 portrays Jesus as a vine, whereas John 10:1-16 portrays him as
a shepherd.

John 15:1-7 portrays certain Christians as branches whereas, John 10:1-16
portrays certain Christians as sheep.

Well; I had much rather be a sheep cared for by the shepherd than a
branch tended by God because the shepherd's sheep are 100% safe and
secure whereas the vine's branches are in danger of incineration.

Really, doesn't matter which reading you prefer. Jesus tells us straight out in John 15, unless we remain in Him we will be cut off. Jesus is speaking very clearly here, many may not want to hear His message.

I loved this one thank you for taking the time to share you know the concept of how the fruitless branches will
Be thrown into the fire there ?

here’s another clear witness of the same but with added revelation

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

but that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:4-8‬ ‭

your post and then point you made is paramount To our faith and is the source of everything Jesus offers like the holy ghost

“If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-17, 20-21, 23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so many Christian’s won’t hear it but Jesus continually heartened believers dorectly to his word and doctrine to abide in the gospel meaning his teachings towards us is salvstion in every way

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the amazing part is that of Adam had remained in his words and teachings In Eden , he also would receive the same blessing until forever if any human will hear what God has said will save them and abide in those parameters it will be the same they will live forever in the kingdom with him

you’ve got upon the nail that fastens our faith to Christ Jesus our belief in his word is our bond to him and the gift of Gods grace is prevelant throughout his teachkngs e shouldn’t think we need to abide in Moses doctrine but in Christs

so what happens if we realize wow I sinned when I did that thing the other day or today ? What does Jesus tell us to do ?

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And again

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so it’s important we don’t look at Moses word because he says when someone sins accuse them witness against them and then gather together and kill them

Jesus would never say that we will bear fruit because we go to the right word and we will bear fruit into death of we go to the wrong one

“For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:5

rather than looking to the law we can just hear the gospel that produces the fruits of the spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

to go to the right word is what actually causes us to produce the fruit

Nope, the fruit of good works that I do are done in His strength, NOT mine.

Abide in His Will for my life, NOT abiding in my own will for my life.

Anything I do apart from Jesus Christ is worthless and will not be good works/good fruit for rewards in Heaven.

My Salvation is ALWAYS SECURE IN CHRIST, I am God’s child, never am I not His Child.

He does NOT take His Gift of Salvation away from me.

does scripture like this create any thoughts to you ?

“Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:7-8, 10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I hope you understand why someone would post this sometimes we need to add the rest of the doctrine to what we already have a good grasp of .

To accept this part is essential d answers why someone would post scriptire like that in response

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s good to trust Jesus with your salvstion we all Need to but it’s better to trust him at his word and what it has to teach us and warn us of . We can choose to reject salvstion if we reject his call to repentance and obedience willfully because we just don’t want to hear it

that’s different from acknolwedging it and then making mistakes believing it.

once upon a time Israel’s prophets told the people “ we are chosen , God will never carry out the warnings and curses he said he would if we don’t obey him we are his chosen people the children of Abraham we can never be lost and destroyed like he said “

to this God said “ my prophets prophecy lies to you they speak of thier own imaginations and cast away my word because of this I will send a famine for hearing my word d you will be utterly destroyed they have cursed you “

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬

If we stick with jesus we’re safe if we decide we don’t need to do anything he says we can never be lost we’re deceiving our own self into complacency and actually denying the salvation he offers through repentance and belief of his word

You might also have asked the question: if we can do nothing apart from Jesus wouldn't we require His help to abide?

I am neither one of the "us" or the "we" for whom you speak. I am one of
the good shepherd's sheep for whom Jesus speaks in John 10:1-16. You and
the branches for whom you speak are in danger of ending up on the wrong
side of things; whereas me and the good shepherd's sheep for whom he
speaks are assured we have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, you
and the branches for whom you speak have plenty to worry about.

FYI: Vines typically portray God's people; the Jews. In other words: John 15:1
could be paraphrased: "I am the true Israel." Now that says something very
unique about Jesus; and worth giving some serious thought.

I'm glad you brought up the subject of forgiveness. We all sin and will continue to sin throughout our lives, sometimes very serious sin. What's important is that, when we do sin don't run and hide from God. Instead, get right back up and turn to God for forgiveness. And, if we're repentent He'll forgive us. That's where Adam and Eve made their second biggest mistake, first was the eating of the forbiden fruit. But after they sinned, instead of asking for God's forgiveness, they ran and hid. And they never acknowledged their guilt, they made excuses. The serpant tricked me, and Eve made me eat of the forbidden fruit.

We need to learn from Adam and Eve's debacle. 2,000 years ago Jesus walked through Galilee offering us forgiveness and salvation. But we need to be honest about our own sinfulness, repent, and quit hiding from God when we do sin.

Unfortunately, many have become so ensconsed, slaves to sins, that they prefer the darkness to the light. And they will try and rationalize their sin because they prefer it over what God has to offer.

“What's important is that, when we do sin don't run and hide from God. Instead, get right back up and turn to God for forgiveness”

yes brother amen to this

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin

. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, ( when we have ) we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:6-10‬ ‭

this part

“We all sin and will continue to sin throughout our lives, “

isn’t a word of faith in my opinion ( only
My opinion not intended to be an insult or offense ) “ it should read more as of sin is the exception that happens sometimes to even the best of us and not the rule by which we declare ourselves continual servants of sin

It sounds to me more like “ do no sin , but if you do happen to find out you’ve sinned you have Christs advocation and forgiveness and if you believe the gospel and repent he is always faithful to forgive you and also cleanse you from the iniquity of your sins literally washing them away and you emerge clean again

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:1-5‬ ‭

I’m pretty sure we agree I’m just saying I don’t look at it like we’re always going to sin and can’t change that, I believe the gospel can set us free from that captive mind

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32, 34, 36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

sin is actually a subjective issue I need to know what I’m doing is sin before it’s imputed, if I’m ignorant it is not imputed as sin

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what I mean by that is only you know of youve sinned I could perceive you sinning based on what I know but that’s not applicable to you you have to walk by what faith has been given you by what you know to be right and wrong through the gospel

one person knows a lot another a little

“And that servant, which knew his Lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:47-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The more understanding of the gospel he’s given us , the higher our own personal standard becomes we are following that faith in us that comes from here

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

while no one is perfect compared to the law of sin and death that’s meant to I pure every sin we aren’t judged by that anymore. If we are looking at Moses law then yes we’re always going to sin in some ways

If we are learning from Jesus we are like children being taught by thier father when we are young we’re expected to be young and learning but as we grow we’re expected to take on the responsibility of what we ourselves have been given from God we become as stewards of the word living in us

so it’s impossible for me to say of you “ your a sinner and need to repent “ only you can come to this conclusion because you have a level of understanding that only you and God knows

we have to have this mind regarding sin
“ Repent lest we perish “ and when we’ve come up short we need to know Jesus and his promises of mercy and remission of sins then we are going to confess because we understand how dealt it is to us , but we aren’t going to be overwhelmed thinking we’re now lost and he’ll bound because we know Jesus and his willingness and desires to forgive sinners and change them to saints

I agree I would just word it slightly different we can know freedom from sins dominion and can start to believe “ we don’t have to keep sinning anymore we’re not who we were now we’re being made new and better being made into the image of Jesus Christ who did no sin as our example our standard of pursuit

and if the oldest Christian around slips up tomorrow they have the throne of grace where they can confess and repent and have immediate restoration as if they never sinned at all
