1 Tim 1:
3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

(MY NOTE: Paul is telling Timothy to challenge those that try to add anything to their gospel message)

4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

(MY NOTE: Paul says challenge those invoking questions about endless genealogies. That detract from our faith message. Also see Titus 3:9)

5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

(MY NOTE Now the END of the commandment is: Love from a pure heart & good conscience mixed with genuine Faith)

6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;

(MY NOTE: Wondering into empty arguments & useless discussions, about law invoked punishments that are no longer applicable to believers)

7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

(MY NOTE: These law teachings derail the NT message: Love from a pure heart & sincere Faith toward Christ).

8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

(MY NOTE: OT law doctrines problem: Slip once/break one (all do) you've broken them all & now owe sins required wage/death)

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

(MY NOTE: Every believer has been justified & received Christ' imputed gift of righteousness (Rom 5:17-18). Placing them in a right standing with the Father, thru Faih in Christ. Who is the Lord our righteousness. (Jer 23:5, 33:15, 1 Cor 1:30, 2 Cor 5:21) Once justified & declared righteous all sin due punishment has been imputed onto Christ. He bought them ALL with His own sinless blood)

2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

(MY NOTE: Righteousness is only available thru faith in Christ)

Even though we are made righteous through his blood, and have the security of our inheritance of heaven, and are born again, we still do carry the baggage of our sinful nature as we sojourn here in this world (Rom 7:18-25).
