The camera man must be on a motorcycle since he has so much control. I'm thinking that they had to bock the road or these skaters wouldn't live long.
I was planning on starting a thread on this subject if there was interest. This one was off topic here but if you want more extreme racing and stunts, I'll get to work on it with a new thread.
Are you sure it wasnt a hands free camera

No, I don't. It just looked to me that there was more stability and speed control than the skateboarder. That could be the shake stabilization feature on the camera though.
After reviewing it a few times, I'm wondering if they didn't increase the play back some. That speed on turns is hard to believe.

might be good for the miscellaneous category. You sound like you might be interested in photography.
I covered bike races for a a while - 06 to 09. Most of my work is buried in a 1TB external H/D but I did find one
of my son at Daytona. This was just before entering a right hander at the end of the straight following the horseshoe
which is why he isn't in full tuck. 7941 8x12 print copy.jpg

That's very cool. Great picture Old Man!
You know a lot more about sport photography than me. Do you think that was another skater behind the downhill road holding the camera?

I'm not up on racing bikes, so I read this blog.
Isn't this the same as your son's bike?

The ladies would say that's hot.

I think the person shooting the video had a helmet cam because the angle didn't change much at all. As with motorcycle racers they are trained to look/focus on where they want to go because the rider will go where they are looking. That's one of the first things taught in racer school. Also the rider with the camera ran almost the same race line as the one in front. I kinda doubt the footage had been sped up - watch the front guys shirt blowing with the wind.
Also - did you notice the 'race pucks' in his palms? Those are the same type bike racers wear on their knees and the really fast folks wear on their elbows.

The link does show the same bike as the one my son raced but all glass had been removed fro my sons bike as required. He hit 187mph on that visit to Daytona.

Serendipity strikes again. I believe I have discovered the fundamental particle behind the electromagnetic field, and I reveal it to be smoke. The proof! As I was watching my tv today, a cloud of smoke was released from the rear of the set and it there upon became inoperative thereby proving smoke to be the fundamental source of the electromagnetic field!
In the electronics arena, it is known to be what makes IC chips work - thus, when the part "lets the smoke out", it stops working... ;) :D

I have seen somewhere that the Brits use the term electric or possibly electrics in places where we in US use electronic. Maybe they also say 'electricmechanical'. Cheerio! ps My start was fixing tv's, seems the joke requires tech focus thinking.

Night after night I prayed to hit the big lotto.
Finally, one night, a voice from heaven.
Could you meet me part way and buy a ticket.
