We've been sharing about knowing God and then being tricked and lied to. I will say, what does come from God is His fullness in being immersed in His love, His peace, His rest, is without price
and joined to. Jesus is the Way. There is no trick or deception in Him, and get this, it's exceeding abundantly above what we ask or think, far above what any deception is capable of, because it can only be given by God. We are to look to God by the Way which is given. IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS

"In its pages we recognize His voice, we hear a message of deep significance
for every one of us. Through the spiritual dynamism and prophetic force of
the Bible, the Holy Spirit spreads His light and His warmth over all men, in
whatever historical or sociological situation they find themselves."

You know who wrote that? Paulus PP VI, from the Vatican, September 18,
1970

My question is this: If both Catholic and Protestant are hearing God's voice
when they read the Bible; then why are their doctrines so incompatible on
many of Christianity's important issues?

EVEN A BROKEN CLOCK IS RIGHT TWICE A DAY .......Many Catholics and many secularists make very sincere and truthful statements.

Some have ears that hear and some have ears that hear and understand.

And of course we each believe our own selves to have the hearing ears while
those who oppose us have the deaf ears.

"Follow The Science" was Dr. Anthony Fauci's mantra in the early days of
Covid 19; and everybody who disagreed with his science was condemned for
misinformation. Most of the folks I encounter on forums feel pretty much
same way about their ears.

The human mind is very impressionable; and it's impressions can be so
strong at times that placebos work just as well with some folks as actual
medicine. Take for example the doctrine of eternal suffering. Some folks
have it in their heads that such a thing doesn't exist, while others have it in
their heads that it does. Both sides of the aisle claim to have the truth and
both are able to produce equally convincing arguments. Which side has the
hearing ears? :)

Certain 'doctrine' is peripheral to the basics and inconsequential and seems to be used like advertisers bait potential customers. So, many 'discrepancies' can be dismissed. Just be cautious about introducing practices in your own worship which can overwhelm the basics.

Fauci knew he was lying. He espoused his views for political and economic gain not because he thought his view was right.
That notwithstanding, people can be sincere in their beliefs and still be wrong. Such was the case of Saul of Tarsus.
Spiritual people are able to discern spiritually. The natural man cannot, regardless of how zealous he may be. The side with hearing ears are the ones God has enlightened. If you can't tell the difference between what it is like to be blind and now what it is like to see you may want to make your calling and election sure.

You do not believe in hearing ears, though. Not for yourself, or others, correct?

And of course we each believe our own selves to be spiritual people and
those who oppose us are carnal people. Pooooor things; oh how we pity
them for their blindness; don't we. :(

Are you an atheist?

You missed the whole point. It may prove funny to pull a small portion to make a joke but it would prove far more profitable to be exercised by truth. It's difficult to take someone seriously who when they encounter truth don't become wiser as a result.

Are you an atheist?

Somebody's disapproval of your way of thinking doesn't make them eo ipso
an atheist any more than somebody being white makes them eo ipso a
supremacist.

Okay, thank you for that information.
I believe things can improve with better communication.

Now, I don’t know if you are bored or dealing with other issues but during a discussion, the most important element is the pursuit of truth or some sort of higher understanding.

So when you evade a question, change topics, cast doubt while providing no answers, this doesn’t help towards the pursuit of truth.

I hope that you will be able to see that for what it is.

Faith is a powerful thing.

That's why its so important to ensure your faith is not mis-guided.

And only One can ensure that.

I hope that you will be able to see that for what it is.

Two months from now, I'll be 79. My life is mostly lived and I'm heading for
the exit. How much hope do really think there is of my finally coming around
to your way of thinking before I'm dead?

Some of you youngsters are not much different now than when the
seventeen year-old self absorbed brats you were in high school: demanding
to be heard, anxious to make a difference, and desperate to be accepted.

Matt 11:16-17 . .To what can I compare this generation? They are like
children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others: We played the
flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not
mourn.

Ahstah Lah Veestah Baybee; off you go to the IGNORE pile. You too
Magenta; and by the way hows about including some men in your graphic
arts now and again. I'm beginning to strongly suspect you have a problem
with gender bias.

Can you ask God if I’m unforgiven or not?
God wanted the Israelites to repent from their wicked ways and follow him. They would sacrifice their own children and do all sorts of abominations.Don't let your sins put a divide between you and God.Satan wants you in bondage.God wants to set you free.

That notwithstanding, people can be sincere in their beliefs and still be wrong. Such was the case of Saul of Tarsus.
Thank you for bringing up Paul, he goes from blameless according to the law to the brevity of being chief of sinners. From the banner of self-righteousness to the humbleness of grace, wishing that he be accursed for the ignorant zeal of his own people. From lording over God's heritage, persecuting others thinking he was doing God a service, to not having dominion over another's faith but to simply be a helper of another's joy in their own walk of faith in the unity of faith of each and every believer in the good news gospel of Jesus Christ.

A servant to all...

You have six pages of created threads to your name. Twenty per page = approximately 120.

120 threads! I have read a good deal of some of them. Would you call them self-absorbed?

Not that you care, but I'd bet many would characterize them that way.
