In Word of Faith, God becomes subservient to man. So whether you "speak into existence" a new Rolls Royce or a loaf of bread, if you're the one in charge you're practicing Word of Faith. If you're trying to get stuff by manipulating God or through "universal laws" you're practicing word of faith. God's in charge, not us.

There’s a difference between a word of faith and the word of faith doctrine. Those who think God is a vending machine, and there are many who are, have fallen away from the faith when they didn’t get what they wanted.

I’ve met someone who quoted verses about getting anything you ask for, while ignoring the broader context, and didn’t receive the request. In this specific example he didn’t get the fancy car he wanted and refused to repent going forward.

I don’t know what happened to him, but the WOF docitrine has certainly caused some problems for people… possibly with consequences in the next world.

Did you miss that somehow? You seem eager to address people's comments, but do not acknowledge actual scripture. I expect no response from you but I am addressing scripture, as has been done, and you will not because it questions both your attitude and your apparent desire to smush out what you are either afraid of or have no understanding of. Either way, it says more about you than others who actually do refer to scripture and do so with faith and love in God who is able to save to the uttermost. God does not lie and our hope in Him is not in vain.

I believe and he can deny, and we can believe his denial or not, he is a man who has sought the fulness but failed to attain to it because he had his eyes on the men/women through who the promise of God was given.

God's great plan is to lift all mankind ... through the church, marriage is Judaic/Christian, it's family who lift up their voices against oppression and all criminality. God prospers society and makes nations great to bless the churches within those nations

Listen America, the Lord made you great just as He made Britain great.

Look at the nations who shun the gospel, aren't they the nations who are dragging in the dirt?

I never wanted to marry, I bless God, I LOVE being single. Yet I know I could have done better in the ministry, I KNOW I have failed. I have seen amazing things, incredible things. Mighty revival has been at my very fingertips on several occasions. I am not lying or mistaken.

I bottled, I was not mature enough, too shy ...

I have seen great things though, souls saved, healing, deliverance, folks helped miraculously. But in my heart I know I missed it.

I am reconciled to all this and have peace.

I will have no peace as long as I am not married. Never wanted the singles life, have no desire for it.

Read I Corinthians 7. Paul encourages celibacy as a superior path to serve the Lord over marriage but only for those gifted to do so.

I can agree with that.

Technically speaking though, a vending machine is obligated to dispense what we choose when we put in the right money. But God gives us the gifts He chooses and which are best for us; not necessarily what we want or would even think of. Some of the greatest blessing I've received from Him I didn't even see coming.

all I know is that you cannot be all at peace when you constantly and consistently rail against what others enjoy in the presence of God

never addressing scriptures presented is not a good sign :unsure:

Paul also says one should remain as they were when they were saved. 1 Corinthians 7:20

Each one should remain in the situation he was in when he was called. :)

But if you get married, you have not sinned.

And part of this was due to 'the time of the present distress.'

The unmarried man is concerned about the work of the Lord, how he can please the Lord. But the married
man is concerned about the affairs of this world, how he can please his wife, and his interests are divided.

:)

Well, if everything from God is a gift, then how is He a vending machine?
My children do nothing for the gifts/blessings I (and others) bestow upon them, they are my kids, and I love them, and I love the joy it brings, for when no reason at all I decide to bless them with with something. Maybe they have asked for it, maybe not. Maybe it is something I find that I know they have never seen or thought of but would bring them joy/happiness.

Now, THIS is a vending machine (and also a complete waste of money/finances/resources- a total rip off)
(The God I know doesn't rip off)

God is not an object made with human hands. If you give Him cash for something, a bag doesn't get stuck in some kind of round thing, and not fall out of the bottom.

God does not advertise rip-off prices for unheathly snacks, not in the Bible at least.

Tired of Christians telling everyone GOD is not a vending machine. EVERYTHING you have is a gift from GOD.....even the air you breath. It's not a sin to ask GOD for anything.

what, do you have to give God coins and push some buttons so you can have something drop in your lap? hmm

I never ask a vending machine anything, they are just a machine, they dont take requests. Sometimes the coins gets stuck or the item only halfway drops so you end up banging on the machine trying to get it.

Who would want to get their items from a vending machine?! I would just go to a real store if I want anything, most of the stuff sold in machines is junk you dont need AND overpriced!
