Anyhoo, I

Being suspended isn't being fired. They're just doing that because there's an investigation. He's still a cop :)
Was there someone fired? No? just your imagination then?

yeah the cop was suspended and the supposed infraction disappeared

I guess you did not like that though

Did you watch the video? At the police station she was told to sit down. We don't know what she did because there was mysteriously no video. Maybe she had stood up and did something or was approaching him.
yeah if the facts don't agree with your opinion, then just start making up stuff. got it

I answered this question in post #51. Someone who breaks the law unknowingly is still guilty of that. The police officer didn't break the law. I'm basically saying your comparison of their ignorance isn't the same. It depends what we're talking about exactly.
Guess that would be the cop then. Since no one else broke anything.

Know what I think? Since you are giving opinions I guess I can also give one

I think that maybe...just maybe...that cop had just got what for for something else he did and took it out on an innocent person

either way, he should maybe write an essay as to why his behavior was unbecoming to a police man who was supposed to be an example of why police are a good thing and then a public apology to go along with it and demoted to a desk job until we all can be sure he will not shoot someone's dog that is wagging its tail at him or maybe a child in the park who looked at him sideways

this is a dude with seething anger

No I like it actually. I am not really protecting police, I am just trying to be a voice of reason to settle the witch hunt down in this thread. He didn't do anything wrong except say some "bad words."

How do you know he has anger issues? He probably just puts on a hat, so to speak, when he goes into work.

I don't deny there are some good cops, but when are we going to start holding the "good cops" accountable for not stopping bad cops from their abuse of power? Does the woman deserve this kind of reaction? What are your thoughts?
Here in Dallas a policeman Murdered a woman who was looking at him in her house by shooting her through a closed window. And then there's the Botham Jean thing who was murdered in his own apartment by a policewoman who didn't know where she was.

Your cop only yelled at a woman. She got off lucky.

He was way out of line. If thats how he thinks he is supposed to do that job, the whole system of training need dismantled and rebuilt from the ground up and the leadership should be fired and possibly replace everyone who was trained under that system.

that's actually funny in a black humor sort of way

she asked if she could just speak first and he allowed for it and then he want postal on her. he's lucky he didn't put hands on her

Because he is unfit for that job. No one should treat another person that way. He verbally abused her and threatened to abuse his authority threatening her with arrest. she having commited no crime.

like I said, I think he was already looking for someone to take it out on cause I doubt this is the first time he 'lost it' and been reprimanded. a person doesn't just go ape :poop: for no reason unless they are certifiable and someone who has been given power and should not have it, is going to do what this dude did

he should be in a land far far away with no rainbow ;)

I guess my skin is just thicker. Loud voices and bad words don't phase me. Most cops won't behave that way unless they're provoked. Does this particular officer have a history of any such behavior? Just seems like the video has a narrative. It allowed her to tell her side of the story calmly while the side they showed of the police officer was just yelling and cussing. He didn't really get fair representation. Yeah, I'm sure that's totally organic.

Probably just anti-cop propaganda.

Uhh postal? Yelling and cussing isn't postal. I think you probably just really don't like cops. Is that accurate?

Take what out? In the video she was told to sit down for some reason the video intentionally didn't mention. She probably did something to provoke him. If so, he responded like a normal cop; aggressively with the lowest level of force required, his voice.

Also, can you prove this cop has a history of this behavior or are we missing most of what happened in this story?

I agree. He is unfit for any position of authority.
Imagine some sick sack like that come unhinged on your wife that way.
I would have him and his chief in a meeting

I disagree with your premise that any rights were violated.
So you disagree that "freedom of speech" means we can do so without the fear of retaliation from the state?

That's like saying we have freedom to murder whoever we want. While it's technically true we can abuse our freedom and murder someone in cold blood, that doesn't mean we are free from consequences or retaliation. Freedom of speech means there are no consequences or retaliation by exercising our right to it.
