Jesus gives us a clear explanation and blueprint for those that have truly been reborn into His family:

Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" (Matthew
) Then He answered His own question by identifying the DNA of the family of God. For whoever does the will of my Father in Heaven is my brother and sister and mother.

All of God's will is summed up, "Love God with your whole heart, soul, and mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

Jesus further emphasized the importance of the Father's Will. "Many will call to Me, Lord, Lord and will not be saved. Only those that do the Will of My Father in heaven will be saved."

So, apparently, only those that do the Will of the Father will be part of the Father's/Jesus' family in heaven.

Re: How Do We Know If We've Been Reborn Into the Family of Jesus?

I've revised that somewhat so it becomes a bit more personal.

How Do I Know If I've Been Reborn?

I really don't think it's possible to clearly identify others who've undergone
the Spirit birth spoken of by John 3:3-12 because Jesus said it can't be done
with any more ease than seeing the wind with your naked eye.

And born-again Christians aren't necessarily more pious than before. For
example: a number of the Corinthians were carnal, i.e. worldly; which is
quite the opposite of heavenly.

Considering the gravity of this issue, I think it's far more important for
each individual to prove to himself his own Spirit birth instead of others.

Can you feel the spirit of GOD with you, watching over you? This is how you know if you are part of his family. I have felt the Lords presence since i was about five. As for following the Father's will, it is essential we do so If we love him. For those who are aware and do not, they will not have part in the kingdom of heaven. The gift of eternal life is not to be taken lightly but must be pursued digilently.

Blessings

op: How do I know I have been born again into the family of Jesus?
By the "fruit of The Holy Spirit" manifest in my walk of Grace:

"The Fruit of The Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance..." (Gal 5:22-23)

IF these are not showing in one's life who thinks they are "born again,"
then God, Through Paul, Exhorts them:

2Co_13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"

GRACE, Peace, And JOY...

In private writings to spiritual counselors, Mother Teresa complained that
she felt not the slightest glimmer of The Lord's presence during virtually her
entire five decades in India. His absence led Teresa to wondering if there
really is a God out there. I'm not making this up. It's all published in a book
titled "Mother Teresa / Come Be My Light-- The Private Writings of the Saint
of Calcutta"

The thing is: according to Rom 8:16, the Spirit itself corroborates with the
spirit of God's children to confirm that they do indeed belong in His home.
That didn't happen for Teresa; so I think we have to assume the worst: she
somehow failed to obtain the adoption spoken of in Rom 8:15, and if she
failed to obtain the adoption, then of course she must've also failed to obtain
the Spirit birth that Jesus spoke of in John 3:3-8.

Re: How Do We Know If We've Been Reborn Into the Family of Jesus?

That kind of knowing begins with first of all believing that the Spirit-birth
requirement Jesus spoke of in John 3:3-8 is not only true, but also available
to one and all.

For example; rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses are taught to believe that
the Spirit birth is available to only a relatively small percentage of the
Watchtower Society's elite. The rank and file themselves do not expect to
undergo the birth either in this life or the next.

So then, I think it's safe to conclude that none of the rank and file have been
born again; and should you suggest to one of them that maybe they have
been and don't know it; they would robustly deny it; and from thence
proceed to show, from the Bible, that nobody else but the 144,000 have
been born again, including you.

The book of John talks about knowing you have eternal life.

It's having believed on Jesus Christ that you know.

That He lived a sinless life, is God, was crucified for our sins and rose again. That He can give eternal life to a person.

If you've believed this, you can be sure you are born again.

Demons might know about Jesus.. but they don't believe in Him. They haven't received Christ as their Saviour.

Jesus gives us a clear explanation and blueprint for those that have truly been reborn into His family:

Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" (Matthew ) Then He answered His own question by identifying the DNA of the family of God. For whoever does the will of my Father in Heaven is my brother and sister and mother.

All of God's will is summed up, "Love God with your whole heart, soul, and mind; and your neighbor as yourself."
The scriptures testify that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. And a man is born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. And they also testify concerning God that of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

When you are born again
by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever, then you will be given power to become a son of God. It is written, as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Because it is it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

And how do you become a son of God?
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. This is why the apostles preached since the day of pentecost: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, save yourselves from this untoward generation.

This is how you are born of water and of the Spirit to enter into the kingdom of God. Because
baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

And receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost which will cause you to
speak with tongues, and magnify God. As it is written, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. As it is written, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

And this baptism, being born of water and of the Spirit, is the baptism of the New Testament. For
there is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

How can you enter that which you cannot see?

Mark 3:33. And He answered them, saying, Who is my mother or brethren? 3:35. For who so ever shall do the will of God, the same is My brother, and My sister and mother. You have to be Doers of the word. Hearing the word is deceiving yourself. Lip service won't cut it. If you have spiritual sight, your supposed to study the bible and plant seeds for God, produce fruit. And theirs another dude who seems to be following me on different threads, leaving comments. He or she must think I'm a new convert. Or just hate the truth.

The first epistle of John gives you the criteria by which you can know that you are a child of God. You can call them "tests" if you wish.

You should be "set free," and your inner emotions should convince you of this. But let's take a step backward . . .

What were the thoughts of Adam and Eve prior to falling under the Curse of the Lord? They knew nothing about selfishness, self-centeredness, lusting, stealing, hatred, fighting, fear, guilt, remorse, regret . . . they were incorrupt. But after they sinned and the Curse of the Lord was applied to all of creation, specifically the Curse of the newly inherited Sinful Nature, Adam and Eve both began to feel fear, shame, and guilt.

Have you ever thought about what that must have emotionally felt like to go through such a dramatic way of thinking? To know only Love, Peace, and Joy, those thoughts and feelings are now in direct competition with fear, shame and guilt. It must have been absolutely horrible.

Well, when the Lord's Elect receives the Spiritual Circumcision of the Heart, the cutting away of the Sinful Nature, like Adam and Eve, you too should feel a change of thinking. But your thinking will go from corrupt thinking, possibly including fear, shame, and guilt, and you will progressively ache to change. And as the Lord shows you His Mysterious Plan within the Bible, you will understand why Abraham is not only important to our Faith, but you will understand why Abraham is our Father of Faith. The more you come to understand the Lord's Holy Words, the more you will desire to change. And more, you will instinctively surrender yourself to your new Master, Jesus Christ. As we offer ourselves to Christ, we offer ourselves wholly. We realize that God is controlling our lives, and we submit to be used so as He desires. We surrender our all, so we may be used at His full discretion.

When you are "set free," you will think differently, and that means that your wordly life will also change. You will become Holy, Righteous, and Pure through God's Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus clearly is telling/teaching us that, if we want to be members of His family in this life or the next, we need to do the Father's Will. Love God with your whole heart and your neighbor as yourself.
In the days of Jesus, the religious leaders were constantly questioning Jesus in order to test Him and on this occasion a lawyer asked Jesus what is the great commandment? Let's see what Jesus says in Matthew (22:35) Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, (36) Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Jesus reply was the 1st great commandment was to love God and the 2nd was to love ones neighbor. These were given as a commandment for man to love.

Matthew (22:37) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.(38) This is the first and great commandment. (39) And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

One should note that by following the 1st and 2nd great commandment they will be adhering to the 10 commandments issued by Moses. If they love the Lord they won’t have any other Gods before him, or make any graven images or take his name in vain, they will remember his Sabbath and if they love their neighbor they will honor their Father and Mother and they won’t kill or commit adultery or steal or bear false witness nor will they covet. This is why Jesus goes on to state that on these two commandments hang the law and the prophets. Because by fulfilling these two commandments one fulfills the law.

(40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Jesus stated that these 2 commandments where the 2 great commandments however the following verses will show that these commandments were not new and that the Jews and Jesus was speaking to were aware of them. These were the same ones issued to Israel by Moses.

Deuteronomy (6:5) And thy shall love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Leviticus (19:18) Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Now that it has been established that man was commanded to love one needs to examine the scriptures to get an understanding of the love required in these great commandments.

In the following verses Moses is telling the Israelites that God chose them strictly out of His love for them.Deuteronomy (7:7) The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

(8) But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (9) Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Note in verse (9) Moses states a condition that God requires in order for Him to keep covenant and have mercy. And that is an individual must love God and keep His commandments. The scriptures will show that there is only one way to love God and that is by keeping His commandments.

Note that Jesus states in the following verse that in order to love Him one has to keep His commandments.

John (14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Jesus further defines the love He requires when He states in the following verse that those who have His commandments and keep them are those that love Him. One does not have to guess at Jesus definition of love He made it clear.

John (14:21) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Jesus also reinforced what was said in Deuteronomy verse (9) by adding that those that love Him will be loved by the Father. How does one love Jesus? by keeping His commandments and Moses said God will keep covenant and have mercy with those who keep His commandments. So therefore by following Jesus one shall receive love from Him as well as mercy from the Father.

Note in these scriptures it did not say those who profess their love for Jesus or those that claim that Jesus knows what in their heart. Jesus made a clear and direct statement if one has His commandments and keeps them they are the ones who love Him. The statement that Jesus made as well as the condition Moses gave in Deuteronomy verse (9) were based on behalf of an individuals actions not their feeling or emotions or conditions. To exhibit love towards Jesus one must engage in a specific action and that action is being obedience to the word of God. And one will see that they are to be obedient regardless of their feeling or the surrounding circumstances.

Jesus states again in the following verses what is required of an individual to receive His love.

John (15:9) As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. (10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Notice Jesus use the word if ye keep my commandments, so what happen if ye do not keep his commandments. The above verse shows to be loved of Jesus one needs to be obedient. Jesus also states in verse (10) that He was obedient to the Father by keeping His commandments and therefore abides in His love. Now Jesus is the example man is to follow and just as He was obedient to the word of God we have to be obedient to God’s word.

God promises salvation to those who put faith in the cross. This is the ultimate will of the Father. It's the climax of Scripture and the heart of God. It's His greatest work to be worshipped.

How Do We Know If We've Been Reborn Into the Family of Jesus?

Romans 8:16
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Amen we’ve heard the witness of the spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭

We heard that spirit bear this witness and we believed his word

“And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:35-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we hear the witness of the spirit ( the word of Christ Jesus ) it wotnesses to us believers that we are the children of God because we did this

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we heard the witness he sent out to us

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭

the spirits witness is in the world being preached and we are beckoned to believe the gospel and be saved into his family . Christs word is the word of the spirit thy at testifies of who he is and who we are in him

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel teaches believers that they are Gods elect children chosen from the foundations of the world in Christ

John 15:16 NKJV - "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."
Amen ! we find out that information when we start to hear and believe the gospel and then we grow in understanding it after we first accept it by faith even not yet seeing the results

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28-35, 37-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christian’s can have an incredible confidence hearing the word and letting it in but simultaneously we’re meant to be learning and growing and pressing forth with all our heart and mknd and soul and strength towards our lord and not away from his teaching

See where it starts out saying “ to those who love god “? This doesn’t say those who god loves , and they don’t return that love to him it’s speaking of the response that is meant to come forward we love him because he loves us forst but we do have to love him in return for these promises to apply And love in Christ is here

“If ye love me, keep my commandments. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

…Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15, 21, 23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

all things work together for those who love God in Christ we do have an obligation to Jesus Christ it comes when we realize what he’s done for us truly realizing it

We love him, because he first loved us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭

“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:2-4‬ ‭

When we start hearing and coming into obedience it’s showing hat our love for God is beginning to bear fruit it’s not that we first become perfect but we come broken to him with dedication and he heals the sinner d restore the child of God within us so in the end no one will ever feel self righteous but all will look to Jesus the savior

It's easy to know. If you've followed the plan of salvation, that's how. The process of being saved according to scripture is
1. Belief and faith
2. Confession of your belief per Rom 10:8 as did the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8
3. Repentance per Acts 2:38
4. Immersion in water, baptism, as the jews were to do on the day of Pentecost also in Acts 2:38

If you do the above, you are saved, you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and are added to the body of Christ by the Lord which is his church, Acts 2:47 and become a child of God and a Christian.
