He doesn't realize that some oysters have very soft shells. (Obviously, some Timothys do also.)

I am sorry Timothy. Please do forgive.
I don't need to forgive anyone, for I live in a state of forgiveness. I "get it" so to speak.

Oyster, you don't ever have to ask for my forgiveness. Everyone already has it. ;)

I have to ask this. Do you all have members that sometimes notify you all they're taking a break? Because this site at times becomes very toxic in spots?

Seriously. I'm new and I have to say there are some very angry people here.
Bullies,etc....

Is this the normal atmosphere? I don't want to go through a bunch of old threads to read for myself. So I ask.

Thanks.

This Forum (BDF) has a well-established reputation for making people get emotionally overheated. Many good people have been banned just because they had a bad day and popped-off.

I have been called an idiot many times. It hurt at first, but I have gotten used to it. I deal with it by cracking jokes, but occasionally it backfires. You can joke around with some, but you get into trouble with others. Do you think we should adopt a policy of acetic austerity? Did Jesus ever smile or jest? I really don't know. What is your thinking on this?

Ascetic? No. A reflection of Jesus example and teachings, maybe.

Jesus had a temper. The money changers found that out.
For his day and in contemporary parlance he also had a mouth on him. As the Pharisee's found out when bringing him into their illegal trial.

Those acts were made against his enemies. Enemies of righteousness.

There's no report I'm aware of where the same behavior occurred among Jesus and or his Disciples.

Matthew 5:22 comes to mind.

Jesus called out evil. I can understand that. And have done so.

That's not against a sister nor brother in Christ though. That's scripture.

As members in the body of Christ, aren't we to be kind to one another? Even when or if we have to bring correction from time to time?

Yes. Do let me know when I become offensive. I will thank you for it someday.

Tim, I do apologize for offending you in a personal way. I do love you. I will try harder to show it. (y)

Sure. When I see a change in you, then I'll believe.

Please give yourself (and the rest of us) a break and come to the Light today.
Moderator? What is worse? Me saying "Stop lying" or @oyster67 telling me to "come to the Light today"?

I am asking that if I am banned, that Oyster be banned for insinuating that I am in Spiritual Darkness, which equates to being unsaved.

Are we going to be fair and establish the same rules for everyone, or are we discriminating against me for some reason?

About 30 years of some form of internet posting has shown most Christian forms have some toxic spots. When they dont it tends to be anyone who dares to disagree , not unlike the liberal media, is banned. A toxic spot here and there is much better then then the censorship of some do gooders.

Christians are do gooders. You're therefore not calling us names. You're insulting yourself by the effort.

And rational people know the difference between dedicated trolling and disagreement.

A smart aleck remark responding to a post made toward someone else?🤔😳

Jesus was a ''do gooder''.

We Christians no where. 😊✝️

Goodbye.👋

That's called wisdom.
When I was young my mother shared something with me I've never forgotten:

It's better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

To this day I'm convinced she was referring to one of my siblings.
I think Proverbs 17:28 says something similar.

One thing can never be said about this site. It isn't without entertainment.

When ''do gooder'' is intended as an insult, y'all got a boatload of troublemakers here.

Wisdom is found in letting that element speak as itself.

Though injecting humor doesn't hurt on occasion.
It takes that which acts to do harm and can bring healing. Thwarting malintent .

Seems like that some on this forum has forgotten that it is a bible discussion forum, and are letting their individual personalities get in the way. Let's get back to discussing the right interpretation of the scriptures.

I couldn't agree more.

"oyster67 said:

If you look, you will see that Oyster67 wrote this out of the blue . . . nothing else was a part of his message.

Like I said, I couldn't agree more with what you've written. :)
