where you going?
Nowhere. But it's been proposed that I no longer communicate with a certain individual, so according to his wishes, I put him on "Ignore", and said goodbye to him.

haha oh I see I didn’t even realize you were temporarily banned I’m glad you’ve been liberated “viva la forum ! “
While I appreciate your enthusiasm for the discontinuance of my punishment, but I am so beyond disgusted that I doubt I'll be returning once these responses (to me) are complete. I am definitely not interested in participating in this level of hypocrisy.

I'm glad that you and I were able to patch over and be respectful to one another. I wish you well and all Godly success!

I have no idea of what you're referring to. What I am doing is Biblical. Weird, and your reply is immediately after I extended credit to us both for rebuilding a bridge.

A person just can't make this stuff up.

Matthew 10:14 NKJV - "And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet."

I can't even follow the Bible without negative influence of this group. Un . . . believable.

brother you are constantly offended in this forum anytime people disagree with you is all I’m saying that’s on you because your a Christian

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

again brother I’m not trying to insult you but trying to prepare you for something your not grasping

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:22‬ ‭

I’ve never seen that happen to you here but if it is happening to you rejoice brother is all I’m saying stop letting what other people say about you or how they respond to you upset you and turn your countenance down tha tree all I’m saying it isn’t an insult but an encouragement
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s part of Christianity to be offended and not respond and react according to the insult Or offense it’s something that helps us grow stronger

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the world is always going to resist Christian’s even in the church the res always someone there to try to offend and get your countenance down

all I’m saying dear brother is that’s part of the walk so it’s better to accept it ahead of time and prepare to let it not affect your heart and mind and countenance

I'm very sorry to tell you this, but you're not a mind-reader. In fact, you're terrible in your assumptions as you attempt to discern what is in my heart. Are you sure you want to follow this path? If so, I couldn't care less. Further, I encourage people to mock me . . . and judge me. I find it interesting that you have missed the plethora of times that I have made this clear.

Do you think that you might have one eye that sees and another that doesn't see quite as well?

Don't be offended by me. Be stronger than that. ;)

This was a tough lesson for me at one point in my life. People I never knew or met before maybe on the job or walking past into a store just blindly judging me by their standards not even knowing that I was a follower of Christ and just say horrible things.

It took me a long time to understand it was really about me being a Believer in God and it rubbed their spirit differently and not that they really thought these things about me.

Before I knew and realized it was a spiritual issue, I would go right at them. And being a big not fat but farm made guy, they wanted no trouble with me. But the spirit inside of them hated me and made them say the things they did.

I used to think people had to know you are a Christian before your Verse had merit [do us wrong because of Jesus sake]. But it is more about the spirits than anything else.

yeah it’s part of the Christian life it’s not easy to accept but if we aren’t being insulted offended cut out by people ect it’s a testimony that we aren’t sharing the gospel with them

the world is about selfishness self the gospel is about sacrificial love to others the two are opposed so there will forever be conflict insult and offense is just something we are going to face if we have the lord Jesus living in our hearts and we are his followers and witnesses it’s going to bring a lot of fire and stones our way it’s a guarantee

You are misjudging my heart. Is that because you are offended by what I have to say?

The tables are turned on you. You are the one who is offended, otherwise, this nonsense would stop. Just let it go.

amen brother it’s why he prepares us to face it the right way in the gospel and says hear me , embrace me and believe me !!!

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for their's is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:10-12‬ ‭

sometimes it’s hard to hear but if we let it in he’s able to change and strengthen us

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.

For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:22-23, 26-28, 35-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we want to know the lords path for us that’s where it begins , we can talk of sin and the law and everything but it starts there in what our lord said
If we follow it we are for sure going to face alot of persecution in life because hardly anyone thinks that way in the world

Good grief... I said I wasn't going to say anymore, but I need to address these notions.

My story, which I've told before, in previous "tongues" discussions is that about 40 years ago, I met a group of folks that were going about the country, preaching and reaching out, mostly to young folks. I was a young person then... well, young-ER.... mid 20's....
They strongly taught speaking in tongues. I had heard of it, being brought up in the church, baptized at 11, father was an elder in the church, went to a Christian school... etc...
After attending some of their worship sessions, I was convinced that I was somehow missing something, as I did not speak in tongues. We had several discussions, and I was convinced that I simply had to fully give in and accept it, pray for it earnestly, etc. We even had two sessions of 8-10 of them surrounding me and laying hands on me.... I WANTED to have that gift....
I didn't receive it. Never. They even said I need to just open my mouth and start making noises, and it would just "flow".... Didn't happen.
After a few weeks of serious prayer and meditation on the subject, I came to the conclusion that either I was "unworthy" or that just perhaps, the Spirit decided I didn't need that gift. Over the past 40 or so years of reading, studying, praying, I've come to the conclusions that I have put forth in this (and other) threads.

So.... don't try to tell me that I WILL speak in tongues, if I just pray for it, and want it bad enough.
If the Spirit decides I NEED that gift, He will give it to me.... and I will NOT have that gift before that happens.... if it ever does.

When I pray to God, I KNOW that the Spirit is also interceding in my behalf, using words that I just don't have. That is good enough for me... I've seen prayers answered, not always the way I was asking, but always for the best. That is the work of the Spirit...
are we then to go by your experience? or do we go with God's word? what about the multitudinous [tongues ] testimonies of folk who did ask and receive in accordance with the scripture.

I don't know about making noises but simply start speaking a language you never learned ... but FIRST receive that special coming upon of the Holy Ghost. THAT'S what we should be coveting.

It is plain to me from Acts that folks can be saved yet not baptised in the Holy Spirit.

Are you going crazy yet?

Your story sounds a lot like mine. Unfortunately, a lot of people are terribly confused about the whole tongues thing.
It's folks that have not [for one reason or another] received the baptism of the Holy Spirit who are confused by it.

We speak in tongues, we are blest.
