It begins so softly, almost gentle,
Coming from within.
Vibrations, resonating in harmony,
Strange, pleasant, enjoyable.

People pause their work, pull over and stop,
Looking for the source of soul’s vibration,
Growing steadily stronger, beginning now
To frighten in its surge.

The vibration turns to rumble,
No longer inside but out,
Coming from somewhere echoing all,
Growing stronger still.

Now panic starts to show,
The frantic search for shelter or flight.
Rumble grows to pure deep sound,
Filling everything with its power.

A lightness spills slowly across the sky,
Bright and purer than even the sun.
The sound breaks to a trumpet blast,
And the eastern sky drips and melts away.

Now terror comes full round,
Curses and screams; bedlam rains.
Fleeing to the west, the mountains,
While a few but stand and stare.

They watch the approach, the majestic power,
Falling down to worship glory.
No more questions, no more fears,
Dearest hope revealed.

They join those ancient doubting tribes,
Watching fire gather down,
Standing on the desert floor,
Faces to the ground.

Every eye shall see Him...like the lightning from the east to the West...The One with eyes of fire ...the heavens rolling up as a scroll, ...the unrighteous hiding from the face of the Lamb
