"Protesters chant ‘Step down CCP’ in Shanghai against China’s zero-Covid policy

27 November, 2022 09:13 am IST

People hold protest across Shanghai against CCP's zero COVID policy

Shanghai [China], November 27 (ANI): Protests erupted in China’s Shanghai on Saturday night against Beijing’s strict COVID-19 policy. Several videos have emerged on social media which showcased people chanting slogans against restrictions imposed by the Chinese government to curb the spread of Covid.

The protests erupted after 10 people died and nine others were injured in an apartment fire in Urumqi. Saturday saw protests erupt in Shanghai with people calling to relax COVID-19 curbs across the country. Expressing anger over the stringent Covid policy, Chinese citizens took to the streets in large numbers.

According to a video posted by DW News East Asia Correspondent William Yang on Twitter, people at ‘Urumqi Road’ held a protest against Xi Jinping-led Chinese Communist Party (CCP), chanting slogans like “Step down the Communist Party” and ” the Communist Party, Step down. Xi Jinping, step down.”

"Protests erupt across China in unprecedented challenge to Xi Jinping’s zero-Covid policy

By CNN's Beijing bureau
Updated 8:12 AM EST, Sun November 27, 2022

Why protesters in China are holding up white paper
CNN

BeijingCNN —
Protests erupted across China on Saturday, including at universities and in Shanghai where hundreds chanted “Step down, Xi Jinping! Step down, Communist Party!” in an unprecedented show of defiance against the country’s stringent and increasingly costly zero-Covid policy.
A deadly fire at an apartment block in Urumqi, the capital of the far western region of Xinjiang, which killed 10 people and injured nine on Thursday has acted as a catalyst for searing public anger, as videos emerged that seemed to suggest lockdown measures delayed firefighters from reaching the victims.
On dozens of university campuses, students held gatherings or put up posters to grieve the dead from the Xinjiang fire and speak out against zero-Covid. In several cities, residents in locked-down neighborhoods tore down barriers and took to the streets, following mass anti-lockdown protests that swept Urumqi on Friday night.
Such widespread scenes of anger and defiance – some of which stretched well into Sunday – are exceptionally rare in China, where the ruling Communist Party ruthlessly cracks down on all expressions of dissent. But three years into the pandemic, many people have been pushed to the brink by the government’s incessant use of lockdowns, Covid tests and quarantines.
The ratcheting-up of restrictions in recent months, coupled with a series of heartbreaking deaths blamed on an over-zealous policing of the controls, has brought matters to a head."

It makes you wonder if they are now starting to protest in China and Iran, two places where they are normally afraid to whether they are about to do something to cause people to fear again and back down.

Communism is one of Christendom's worst enemies. Communist dictators have killed over 100 Million, many of whom were Christians, in China, in Russia etc. Many western Christians do not this. I would implore, stand with your suffering brothers and sisters in China against the Communist government. We're seeing communist and dictatorial governments in Russia, China and Iran that persecute Christians and other innocent people finally being held to account for their crimes. Good Leaders are a Blessing from the Lord. As the Lord's people, let us continue to pray the Gospel has full freedom to spread.

For sources, see this on Communist Dictator Mao from Wiki:

"The government was responsible for vast numbers of deaths with estimates ranging from 40 to 80 million victims through starvation, persecution, prison labour, and mass executions."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mao_Zedong Being indifferent to such things is also a sin. Powerful nations, especially Christian Majority ones, should call out the evil and condemn it and put pressure on the oppressors to grant freedom.

This is how Pope John Paul II, Prez. Raegan, Prez. Walesa, Margaret Thatcher and others brought down the Soviet Union.

In Guangzhou, 10,000 people rioted against capitalists abusing their power to conduct nucleic acid tests, and special police were deployed.

I don't see this ending well at all.

The Chinese people have a LOT of reasons to be upset.
From the exorbitant cost of living for housing and the extremely low wages and many other things that are burdensome in regular life...(covid lockdowns mean no wages to pay bills)

Their backs are breaking from the strain. They have no hope.

And the Government can't afford to give them any. They are in the middle of a cash/credit crisis stemming from corruption.
CCP just finished nationalizing several banks in Hong Kong last year because they needed their cash. They have done the same thing to several private businesses...again for the cash flow and income.
It's also why they want Taiwan and it's riches. However. Taiwan's riches come from foreign investment from many nations...including Japan, Germany, UK, Switzerland, Norway, and etc etc etc. Basically it would be robbing the entire world of their assets there.

CCP wants to make semiconductors like Taiwan does...the USA is the ONLY nation with a company that makes the machines that can make the fastest processors....they are currently not allowed to sell them to CCP under any circumstances. (A new machine requires 2 years to fabricate)

CCP is broke...which has been caused by corruption in a backhanded fashion. They really don't know what to do because it is widespread and ongoing. Confiscating the banks in Hong Kong has only bandaided the situation. Because we still don't see the materials going in or manufactured goods coming out.

I think there is another factor in the draconian lockdowns. The problem with a Covid virus is that it will mutate rapidly and the main thing with a bioweapon is you never release a bioweapon until you have the antidote. My guess is "they" (whoever it is that released this weapon) were inoculated against Covid19 but it has mutated and is now infecting the people who were supposed to be protected.

My kingdom is Kingdom of God, We only live in this world temporarily.
For me, the leader of any country is the blind leading the blind.
It doesn't matter who change in China, they are all blind.
Unless God leads the country directly.
As for who is in charge in China, it is meaningless to me.

One thing many miss, WWI opened the US to see the rest of the world and so it really kicked off our ministries to go global. WWII was when the Gideons passed on NT to every recruit and war is actually a very good time for the gospel and for people to pray and be saved. War, Famine and Pestilence will often cause many to turn to the Lord.

You're showing much more grace than I have. It's better for me not to say anything. Sometimes, to avoid sinning, I'll just slap ignore onto the person.

I don’t ignore anyone because I want to see what they say, even if 90% is junk. Sometimes that one wonderful thought/post makes it all worth it.
‘Also I don’t want to send myself into an echo chamber by blocking everyone And I usually ask direct questions.
I am also at complete peace so there’s nothing that offends me or triggers me even if someone says something extraordinary considering more than 50% of the posts in this forum are conspiracy theories/politics/false prophecies.
