About 5 years ago, I read an article on line about the positive health effects of gargling with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Apparently, the Peroxide is much more effective at killing bacteria/germs and combating bad breath than your leading oral antiseptics, such as Listerine. Also, the price of a bottle of Peroxide is only $1 as compared to $6 for Listerine.

After reading the article I was sceptical. So, at my next dental appointment, I asked my dentist. She said that she highly recommended gargling with Peroxide, that it was harmless, and that it was great in killing germs. A couple of years later, during the COVID outbreak, all patients in her office were required to gargle with Peroxide before their teeth were worked on, in order to protect the dental staff from COVID germs.

The most important thing for me is that, over the last 5 years, I haven't even caught a common cold since I've been gargling with Peroxide. I gargle once in the morning after breakfast and once in the evening before retiring. Prior to 5 years ago, I used to catch a cold once or twice a year. But now they are gone. And 5 years is a long time to be free from colds!

I'm not a medical doctor and I'm not selling anything. But I do suggest that you check with your dentist about gargling with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Here's a good article on it: Top 5 Benefits of Gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide | Extra Wellness

BTW, while I'm at it, the same 3% hydrogen peroxide is an excellant cleanser for ear wax removal. It's much cheaper than other cleansers, painless, and very effective: Using Hydrogen Peroxide for Earwax Removal: Does It Work? (healthline.com)

What you've shared is true. One caution is that long-term use as a mouthwash can be detrimental to the gums.
Cameron143, one of the reasons that I consulted my dentist on the use of gargling with hydrogen peroxide was because I had read articles that it was detrimental to the gums with long term use. She denied that and said that using 3% hydrogen peroxide would not be detrimental to the gums, with long term use.

I'm an old guy and have been gargling with hp for over years and every time I go to the dentist/hygienist they tell me my gums are in excellant condition. But that maybe just me. I'm not recommending hp for anyone's use, I'm just saying it's worked wonders for me and to check with your own dentist for advice on the matter. Just an oral health tip and nothing more.

I understand. But sometimes in medicine things once accepted change and the public isn't always informed.
My son is a pharmacist and this was his caution when I asked him.
I've read many of your posts and know that your heart is kind and desire to help others genuine.

before there was toothpaste it was common practice to use peroxide and /or baking soda. didnt use peroxide but have used baking soda.it neutralizes acids, and of course we all know that sugars and acids cause cavities, it also whites teeth, great for instant relief of heart burn. known cure for cancers both topical and internal, because its an alkali , but does come with a warning of how much can be taken ,due to too much will neutralize natural acids in the body....not giving med advice only repeating doctors and the research, most notably dr.simoncini from italy , can be found on youtube....start with cancer is a fungus in the search.

Good advice! I'll ask my dentist what she thinks about gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide. However, it seems like a more affordable choice compared to Listerine. It's so nice when people share between them different alternatives to healthcare. The other day I read on another forum about ear care. A doctor there wrote about multiple ways to clean your ears without doing any harm. As I wanted to try some of them, I googled their prices. I found here https://www.mcdaidpharmacy.ie/collections/ear-care outstanding deals for different kits and sprays. There are also ear drops for softening the wax. Now, I'm waiting for my order to arrive.
I have used H2O2 hydrogen peroxide as an oral antiseptic with no apparent issues. YMMV. I won't recommend any treatments, but will share some valuable information that I have learned while following naturalpathic and medical doctors.
1. 3% H2O2 that is most commonly available is not purified and may have some toxic components. Some doctors warn against the use of this and others don't believe it is an issue. I honestly can't say if or how much it could be a factor. Keep in mind that another common antiseptic, denatured alcohol, is extremely toxic and should never be used internally under any circumstances.

2. I've used Hydrogen Peroxide periodically, but do not do so daily. That may be a fault, however one of the doctors I studied under recommended using a fluoride free toothpaste and diluting the H2O2 by 50%....half with water. The gargle seems to kill the bacteria if a sore throat is beginning. I don't get out my microscope or run a culture, but I can tell from symptoms.

3. Most wound care specialists and physicians do not recommend it for wounds. Some recommend it for superficial punctures. When you pour it on skin undiluted, you can see it turn white. This is tissue oxidation/ damage of the outer layer. The epithelial tissue of the mouth will suffer the same damage if not diluted properly, or if it isn't rinsed immediately. Fortunate, it is replaced quickly, but the continued use is debatable.
I gargle with it if there's any inflammation or thrush. Then I treat the root of the problem.

4. There is a purified form available that I will sell when/ if Lord willing I can open a store. It will be a version that is only available at a high concentration of 35%. That is over 10 times more concentrated than the common version. That is dangerous if not diluted properly. However, it has been used in the health fields for decades safely and according to proper protocol. I do not recommend starting by going out and buying that because of the potential for harm if not used as directed. A personal consultation would be available from me when/ if that time comes. I just want to be a blessing to my brothers and sisters in Christ in these perilous times.

Best to you and everyone's oral health!

It's important to know that should be 3% laboratory grade hydrogen peroxide.

I know someone diagnosed with ulcers years ago. They mixed a teaspoon of 3% with a small glass of milk and drank this twice a day.
A month later their ulcer was dried up and never returned.

Dr Mercola posted a good video on how a repeatable study showed 100% recovery from Covid if used immediately upon symptom onset. He described how a nebulizer dispenses it at the recommended concentration and as directed. He cautioned to NOT use OTC 3% h2o2, but rather the properly diluted food grade instead. YouTube deleted it, but perhaps the video directions are still available on another platform if you want to look into it.
