We yearn to truly be part of Jesus Yeshua, the First of the Resurrection, Who takes us up with Him.
I do believe this is a good internal witness but difficult to discern in others.

It's a very good question. And ultimately we can't know because we cannot look upon another's heart. But though we can't make final judgments, we can make functional judgments and are encouraged to do so...1 Corinthians 2:15...but he who is spiritual judges all things...
So what should we be looking for?
We are told that the Spirit will lead us into all truth so while we all hold some truth in error, we should be getting closer and closer to the truth. And scripture tells us we were created unto good works so these should attend our walk. But works, too, can be misleading because Jesus told many to depart who had quite the works resume. I've personally found the most accurate indicator to struck me be the work of the Holy Spirit in creating the reality of spiritual growth. As the Spirit works a person should become more loving, experience more peace and joy, extend greater longsuffering and kindness, exercise increased gentleness, etc. In short, we should actually become more like Jesus.
Hope this proves helpful.
Yes and I agree and I just had the thought that perhaps Christians who are more Spirit-filled than carnal will be caught up, sensing the call. That's a scary thought, if so, I have a lot of work to do with just my loved ones. I hope God will indeed have mercy on the weak and believers who have good hearts, just not students of the Word.

Only you can answer this question. Lynxs have many skills.
But lynx are also inherently indolent. I would like to know which skill will be most important in the future, so I can focus on that one (and take a nap for the rest of the time.) ;)

What's a sign of someone having the 'indwelling of the Holy Spirit'?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Gal 5:22-25)

It turns out...napping is the most important skill but you slept through announcements and never heard.

We all have questions about a number of things. But if you could ask only 1 question that you believed the answer to which would best help you currently in your Christian walk, what would that question be?
What does God want me to do with the remainder of my life?

I might need to take a vacation alone with God, away from all the distractions in this world, to get the correct answer to that question. I'm actually considering doing just that, but I'm not able to at this precise moment. Soon, I hope.

Another great question. And, if I may, I'll just remind you of a couple of things people have shared with me and that you probably already know.

1. We can always already do the things we know please God.
2. We're where we are because that's where God has already planted us. Look around...I'm guessing the field is white unto harvest.
3. We don't need to find God's will as much as we need Him simply to lead us in it. Proverbs 3:5-6...Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
God's will is for us to exercise faith. As we trust Him, He works out our future.

Getting alone with God is always a good thing. But don't pursue an end in it other than Him.

I have a question, but it has nothing to do with helping me in my Christian walk, although it might help me to answer this question for others somewhere down the line. It's just something that I've been wondering about for years, and maybe somebody here knows the correct answer because I certainly don't.

Why did God allow men to have multiple wives in the Old Testament?

For the life of me, I've never been able to figure that out, and I've asked God this question many times myself over many years.

Anybody know?

Dear Father who art in Heaven,

Do you have the time please? If so, please bless me and tell me what you would directly and personally like to say of yourself and salvation.

Thank you.

In Deut 17:17 it says not to:
17 And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.

Thanks for replying.

Yes, I know, and that was written, in context, in relation to kings of Israel, yet kings like David and Solomon had multiple wives. Of course, people like Abraham and Jacob had multiple wives too, and I'm just wondering how it was allowed under that covenant.

It's a real head-scratcher for me.
