She was married to Gary Chapman (the Christian musician NOT the 5 love languages guy) so she would have been Amy Chapman (hough due to her career kept her maiden name Grant.
There are other famous Amies. For example...

Why are the Kennedy Center Honors ribbons rainbow colored?
It's Not What Some Assume.

Designed by Ivan Chermayeff (the visionary illustrator and graphic designer responsible for the logo of multinational brands like National Geographic or NBC), the rainbow-colored ribbon symbolizes the range and versatility of skills in the field of performing arts.

As Ivan told The Washington Post Sunday in 2008, he didn't intend for it to evoke the style of the rainbow flag, which was first designed by a gay activist named Gilbert Baker and debuted at the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade celebration on June 25, 1978.

"That spectrum was what I had in mind in the first place, in that it's a spectrum of many skills within the performing arts," Ivan said. "Singing, dancing, and so on."

Unlike the Academy Award or the Grammy Award, the ribbon has a distinctive, eye-catching design that makes the honorees immediately stand out from the crowd.

Yeah and unfortunately, this is what the devil did to God's symbol of His promise to Noah.

Amy Grant should never have been idolized in the first place, nor should she have allowed herself to become an idol. And now she is telling the world a lie. This is both sad and shameful. It is also another indication that the Great Apostasy is getting worse day by day.
Or, it's just being revealed to us, having always been there.

Maybe this time we're in is a good thing. Dividing lines are being drawn, dark underbellies are being displayed.

She is a member of the Church of Christ denomination. In the south, in particular, they are non-instrumental (which seems an odd choice to me for a professional singer/musician).

Oh well, her denomination is not the problem.
Thanks Deuteronomy. That IS the oddest irony considering her lifelong career as a singer and member of her bands.
The United Church of Christ is a member of the National Council of Churches, if that's the same. They're really liberal and officially support the LGBPTQ agenda. There's doubtless plenty of individuals within those churches that disagree with that, but stay with them for whatever reasons.

The UCoC is a different denomination than the "Church of Christ" denomination that she belongs to. Her's is FAR more conservative (or at least it always was in the past anyway).

I don't know the reason for it, but I did note that her niece's wedding is happening on her farm, not in her church.

John Wimber spoke of that and how God had him leave that all behind.

We have another celebrity saying things which are popular with the masses, and entirely antithetical to scripture...

this hardly seems newsworthy.

Unfortunately, it is BIG-TIME news for the secular media. She is a crossover artist, but everyone knows about her Christian roots, so this is a big deal for the LGBTQ+ movement. The newest thing is holding Franklyn Graham out as the only Christian who has a problem with her hosting the wedding (he has expressed concern on Twitter and elsewhere).

Friend, you might ought to research John Wimber a little bit. Kansas City Prophets/Latter Rain, Vineyard, NAR, etc.

I understand that, and I understand why you posted the thread.

My response wasn't meant to be derisive toward you in any way, and I wasn't trying to be dismissive of your time and intentions to post interesting news for us. We all understand your good intentions.
I was really just giving commentary on how Christians should view this...
this is just how celebrities act, and we should expect it, roll our eyes, and just go about our day.

We should all be wary of Christian celebrities, especially when we see them saying and doing odd things for decades.
It's just silly to put people on a pedestal, especially entertainers.
One more "Christian celebrity" saying something awful... it just doesn't affect my day, and I feel no need to defend it.
Here's a simple solution when anyone says anything about it: I just say, "Well she doesn't speak for me."
Done.
It's that simple.

And the modern media, and the modern culture, will use any and all excuses to browbeat Christians. It doesn't matter who did what, or even if nobody did anything at all. They're going to ridicule us, always, no matter what has happened lately in the news. The latest thing in the news is not the reason for "why" they ridicule us... it's merely their latest excuse. It should roll off us like water.

And as far as Christian celebrities go, a large percentage of artists in "christian music" aren't even Christians at all... they're just lost people who showed up to make an easy buck. This is the reality.
And the people there who ARE Christians, tend not to have much maturity or wisdom.
I've worked around the Christian music industry... and it's just a joke.
I don't know why Christians take musicians so seriously.
I realize Amy Grant has been around a long time, and she's sort of in her own category... but I haven't taken her seriously in decades.

In conclusion, this is genuinely interesting news, but only because Amy Grant has been around so long.
When Christian celebrities say something awful, we should just expect it, roll our eyes, and go about our day.

Take care brother, and have a wonderful Christmas.

Except that Amy Grant is not merely a "celebrity". She presents herself as a Christian, which means that she must uphold Christian teachings. Same-sex marriage is an abomination, so how does she reconcile that with her Christianity? And what kind of influence is this going to have on young people and those who are immature in the faith? Are they not going to say that if this is OK for Christian Amy Grant, it must be fine with God.

Early in the video, if you missed it you should probably go through it again, it will be good for you considering where you are spiritually now.

I have no intention of watching anything when I don't even know what I'm supposed to be looking for. You've made your intention clear: to promote your idol.
