Flat Earth theory is so ludicrous that I do not begin to understand why anyone could believe it. This is my last word on the subject.

All FE people need to do is get a decent telescope. If they are right, they can see across the (flat) ocean and view other countries in their line of sight. Add a decent camera to the telescope and photograph the place that you are viewing. China should be able to see Taiwan, if indeed the earth is flat. Since the earth is not flat, no photo will be forthcoming. If it was flat, no doubt China would be observing Taiwan continually and there would be nothing that Taiwan could do about it. QED

What evidence do you have that the atmosphere is transparent?

My eyes. I can see.
So you obviously have never seen any mountains, right? Because they become invisible before they disappear "over the horizon". Hence demonstrating that the atmosphere is not completely transparent. Enough atmosphere and it becomes opaque.

Now that people can see.............

The Flat Earth?!?!

I will briefly give reasons why the Flat Earth doesn't work, even though it's been discussed at nauseam.

Flat Earth doesn't have a model with the sun, moon, planets, and etc. It's pretty hard to point out it's errors, if there isn't anything to test.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Genesis 1:14 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis 1&version=KJV

It's pretty hard to show seasons, when there isn't a model to show how the sun rotates. Someone mentioned this verse in the thread earlier, so I thought it would be good one to expose the Flat Earth on this one.

Planes

Stars

Flat Earth needs to create a model, explain away planes, and Stars before it's even in a position to be discussed. Not to mention, where is the edge of the earth?!?! Gonna need proof of this one. Maybe there will be a flat earth safari one day, to find that amazing ice wall, that circles the world. lol

Enough atmosphere? What does that even mean? By the way, I've seen Mont Blanc from about 30,000 feet as well as other alpine peaks. I've flown over quite a few mountains, including the Rockies. Some days there is cloud, others mist, and sometimes it is completely clear. You should get out more.

You know that the atmosphere is thinner higher up, right? So you can see further, 'cause there's less of it? Lol.

You should take your own advice. :p

Flat earth is a joke, so might as well have a few laughs.

Hold the phone, just learned that mainstream science believes the sun is moving. Mainstream science believes the earth, sun, and moon are mobile.

"Yes, the Sun - in fact, our whole solar system - orbits around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. We are moving at an average velocity of 828,000 km/hr. But even at that high rate, it still takes us about 230 million years to make one complete orbit around the Milky Way!"

It was cruel to name our galaxy after a candy bar. Big chocolate strikes again.

They were gonna call it, "Ring Around the Collar", but Tide with bleach didn't outbid, the Mars bars corporation. Money talks. The big banks are rumored to be in position, to being naming all the new galaxies. :)

I just hope big chocolate has already blown its advertising budget.
Mind you, I'm not opposed to capitalism per se. If one can pay for stadium naming rights, I see no reason not to allow for galaxy naming rights.
I actually think it was brilliant to sell stars. But no where do I see that a fool and his money are soon parted exemplified than in this practice.

For sure, how many people can look up at the sky at night, and say, there is the Big Dipper?!?! I can't, without the help of computer software.

I would be lucky to find Mars in space, without help. Hollywood named stars are much easier to spot for some reason.

Looks like you got a Hollywood Star named after you Cameron. lol

She is pretty, no question. To be honest, I'm completely amazed how "the heart of earth" functions. This will be like a five year journey, exploring the possibilities, of how the universe works.

NASA astronomer agrees, that flat earth has strange looking eyes.

I find the whole earth shape argument amusing. I never pick a side because the answer whatever it is doesn't materially change my life.
Don't get me wrong, my lack of interest in no way is meant to deter others in this or any other scientific endeavor. I say discover away. Just don't bother me with it until you have found a practical use for me. I'm perfectly at ease turning on a light without understanding all that is involved in making the light possible. So keep at it. I depend on people like you. And if I forgot to tell you, thanks for your hard work. Like scrubbing bubbles, you work hard so I don't have to.

I have spent a ton of time looking into this, it's all Flat Earth priest's fault. If they didn't put their propaganda near the tennis courts, I used to play at, I would of never gave the heliocentric model a second thought. I'm a curious person and wanted to know why people are crazy, and why crazy people believe in the flat earth. Big mistake right? Now I need to know how the concave hollow earth works, and why the other models work, and don't work.

It was just like when I found out that the Sabbath is not on Sunday, I had to figure out what else was a lie. I just want to know the truth. When I told people the Sabbath wasn't on Sunday, they looked at me, like I was from a different planet. lol Sorry, don't lie to me next time religious leaders, and churches. lol

To bring up electricity, that is another subject that is fascinating. Your missing out on all the fun. At least read a book on Tesla, he is one of the most interesting people to ever live. You know he was in love with a pigeon? lol

1672422718377.jpeg

You know, they do make a good couple. A pigeon is a dove.

Noah had a pigeon/dove friend also.

Well, thanks I guess. I'm sure you help society in ways with your work, we all have a part in this life. God has purposes for everyone.

Thanks for joking in these threads and help maintaining an entertaining chat forum. It's get to serious sometimes and a little humor helps break up the madness!
