Find reasons to be thankful instead of reasons to complain. The ones you choose will define who you become. And I don't know anybody who wants to marry a grumpy old phart. :p

Main thing is to live life, not put it on hold just because you're single. Go out to eat if you want to go out to eat. Go see a movie. Do the things you want, whether you're alone or on a date.

"But I just feel so awkward sitting alone at a restaurant."

Try listening in on the conversations around you. Or bring some earbuds and listen to an audiobook or music. Or bring an actual book and read while you're eating. Who knows, you might meet someone at the cafe.

Get a job. Be productive.
Like Lynx said, "be thankful".

Remember that all that we have are gifts from God. Our talents, abilities, breath, water, food, friends, family...all from God.

The trials we go through are refinement, which is a gift from God.

And Lynx had good suggestions too.
He may be old but has some wisdom too! 😜

Paul the Apostle said,

"But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife."

Rather than focussing on a mate, someone single can focus on the Lord and He will take care of your needs. The eternal blessings that result from serving the Lord without family obligations may very well last forever.
I found that the most important things in eternity are the fruit of salvation.. <That's better than passing out thousand dollar bill$ to strangers and friends.

Focus on others and how you can serve them. Take a meal to a new mom. Take time to send a card to a friend going through a tough time. Don't let your enthusiasm for your friends' weddings wane cuz you're still single. Learn a new language or a new skill.

Probably a topic for a different thread, but how do people interpret this is verse : "He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord...." What does it mean, care for things that belong to the Lord?

People tell me, do everything you want to while you are young and single because you may not have time to do so while you are married. Plus, age takes it toll. This is not Biblical advice, but there is an element of truth. When you are married, you have more responsibilities and more compromises. Compromises are not 50/50, generally more compromises are required of the woman (I was recently reminded of this by my dad). While single, you may have more time to spend with family and friends (when married you will at least spend part of your time with in-laws, for example). You have more time to pursue your interests, more time to connect with other people, more time to even think about God, etc.

This example comes to mind from our service yesterday in Luke 2.

"And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day."38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem."

The Lord gave her a special blessing that exceeded the rest of the nation. She won souls to Christ when she spake of Him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. She was previously married, but remained unmarried after her husband died and she decided to serve the Lord well past 100 years old. She was a winner of souls and now she is known as a famous lady in the life of Jesus forever.

This might be good advice for someone who wants to remain single.

By being a winner of Souls to the Lord...
Thank you 🙂

Are you telling us...to buy lotto tickets or fundraise...?

What do you mean by 'profitable'. start our own businesses? Be self-employed?

Just because you are single doesnt mean you dont have a family unless you are truly orphaned...but true religion is to look after widows and orphans anyway.

Look for those widows who need a hand and orphans who need guiding. There is no rule saying you must be married to show agape love.
