And this is how it should be iron sharpening iron.
My thoughts of debating age old theologies and doctrines that never really get settled is wasting precious time.
The Lord has instructed us to count our days to be very mindful of time spent and what we have done with them.
We can never undo the past as a single or a whole but we can change the future by learning from history.
For the most part the church has separated jews from gentiles which was never God's intention.
Learning of jesus from the so called old testament enriches ones knowledge and brings irrefutable evidence that he is the one and only Christ. That by none less than a devine intersession has taken place.
No one and nothing could ever put together the intricacies that are in the new testament that so many saints are unaware of.
Future more to have the knowledge God shared with us in the old and stand toe to toe with a jew on his own understanding to witness for Christ blesses us all.
woe that was a good powerful witness right there it speaks scripture without speaking scripture

Sounds like this to me

“How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:3, 5-6, 8-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s really good to hear knowing g God is the God not of Jews but he is the God of all nations and Abraham the father of all nations by the grave and power of our Lords great wisdom revealed and sacrifice that followed to this end

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:9-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s such a comfort to know our last identity and life our race and bloodline is no matter to the lord he only cares deeply for all of his children whether male female light skin or dark jew or gentile his arms are open wide receiving my and all who will step forth and secure thier faith in the only one worthy

jew and gentile ( all other peoples ) partaking in the ancient promises of God . There is absolutely no way that it could be fakes or made up coming through such perfect witnesses that seem scattered but then later with revelation become a perfect ordered story that itself can convince us of the truth of we don’t turn back and cling tightly to our hope on him even if we sink sometimes such a blessing to call
Out “ lord save me “ and he always lifts us up and sets us right back on the boat he’s blessed and called

Ha! Tell me about it. :)

I feel as if I am just scratching the surface of what the Father has for me to see.
lol Amen , brother I think that’s where we’re supposed to remain as followers and humble learners of the gospel we are never going to out know it but there is rest on following after him according to the path he’s made known for us

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭

“He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:11‬ ‭

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s about growth in knowing Jesus it’s what holds the promises and transforms the spirit of the mind one glory to
The next , one faith to the next we have assurance and then we are pressed forth a bit more and when we begin walking in that , we have assurance and then we’re pressed forth a bit more and when we accept and start stepping in time we have assurance he’s always comforting and also always causing us to expand our horizons much like the father teaching his children to become good adults well equipped to dwell in eternity with him

“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:1-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

No Matter how much we come to walk in there’s a world of more to grow in but he’s there with us every step and he sure is merciful and understanding when we fall down or trip up , I’ve learned that the closer we come to Jesus the truly smaller we appear tomoiraelves because he is like a mountain and we sre
Merely a small pine just beginning to grow up a little bit but he’s able to do all we cannot and cover all
We have messed up in the past

amazing how he sees us after all we have done wrong in life he still sees us through the name of Jesus Christ and that leaves me wanting to understand how he can love us who were unlovable at some points in life I’m sure glad Jesus is who he is

Not to derail this thread but to sorta add...

I'm a comic strip buff and there's a cartoon called family circus...
Saw this one from the archives today and it just blessed me.

The little girl is explaining to her friend the difference between her brother and her and her other adopted brother. She says...

My brother and I came from my mommies tummy but my brother Arron was adopted and came from my mom's heart.

I thought about us being adopted by God and grafted into his family......just thinking😊😊
i like that , I don’t think it makes a difference to God once he claims us from the dust , we become part of his loving heart forever and his heavenly family and we are just his children adopted sire because there’s only the one begotten , but what he went through to get us back from death speaks of a love toward us that cannot be measured almost as if we are the apple of his eye and always have been

Jesus dying for us , is just what any true loving father would do to save his beloved children from death

when we look at Jesus and how he knew he was loved by the father , I’ve always taken it as how we should see his love for us the son was truly showing and teaching us and promoting and enabling us to be the children of the living God almost like the adoption is somehow the glory of it all and purpose of it all from the start

I really liked that thought

could be some shiny sparks that happen when iron strikes iron in just the right manner in the right spirit of humility between two parties seeking to be better children and share the life giving message to a better end

Good stuff.

I'm not convinced the two, Moses and Elijah, are the two standing before God. I will meditate on it.

As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)

"While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

God shut down any symbol of representation of Moses and Elijah. I doubt there would be a "commemorative edition" :) somewhere in the heavenlies.
im not sure I understand your reasoning there brother

moses and the prophets were witnesses of Jesus like the apostles even Moses prophecied of Christ in the law itself

“And the LORD said unto me,( Moses ) They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭18:17-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

thats a witness of Jesus and the gospel like this is

“and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:20-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

One witness Moses , is prophetic looking into the future from long before it came to pass

the other witness Peter is speaking after it had just come to pass and was fulfilled but both witnesses old testament and new are there so we will believe Jesus witness of himself

so you have Moses and peters witness

“Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me;

him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

which is meant to witness and support this truth to us

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

remember now what Moses said ?

“will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”

See moses law of works that was ordained of the angel that’s removed but what Moses witnessed of Jesus in the law is forever a witness of Christ d he witnessed a lot about Jesus in figures like the Passover , the sin sacrifice , scapegoat all the priestly ordinances ect

We really don’t want to forget Moses and the prophets like Elijahs witnesses of Christ the messiah because they offer understanding

“I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:43, 45-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s a lot of prophetic writings from Moses anything when he’s explaining “ in the future it shall come to pass “
Like what he said about raising up Jesus and he would speak his words of requirement to the people is prophetic and usually about Jesus in the ot

Holy resurrection, Batman! :D

I have to blow the dust off of my brain about this...

Perhaps I was thinking about the principle of shadow vs. reality: once the reality has appeared the shadow loses its value. Like hope: once the object of hope appears there is no need for hope. Christ is the proof of the Law and the Prophets... so the Law and the Prophets are contained in Him, complete.

John the Baptist, who represented the Law and the Prophets, diminished so that the end result, Christ Jesus, could appear. Not that John had a choice: he recognized that one greater had appeared and that he was to decrease as Jesus increased.

I cannot see how Moses and Elijah regain a preeminent role in the scroll of man-kind at the end of the scroll, so to speak. So it makes me wonder what/who will appear as the two witnesses.

Just my thoughts. :)
