“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Keep reading chapter 4 and you will not only get the peace of God, but the God of peace Himself.

I truly appreciate all that you've shared. I haven't heard of the gentleman you mentioned but am familiar with Bonhoeffer and many other martyrs and saints.
I've found two books particularly helpful when the subject of suffering and hardship arise: Habakkuk and Job. I always suggest reading Habakkuk first because it is easier and in many ways Job picks up where Habakkuk leaves off.
I'll keep you in prayer and look forward to your future postings.
One aspect to consider about suffering and hardship tribulation in this world is

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings;

that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ultimately

“confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭14:22‬ ‭

and more details and instructions

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith,

knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:16-17‬ ‭

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Like a refiners fire for Christian’s , is this world just a thought to consider whatever we endure now can never compare to what is ahead in his promise

Knowing you, it's been way more than a couple.
I used to just hear what people said but then I got a good Bible app and my nephew showed my how to use it lol

Everyone should get a good Bible app youbible is awesome and free or maybe like 2 dollars I can’t remember

It really does open up the Bible to people wanting to learn from the Bible because you can do so many cross references so easily and so many detailed studies in so many versions or translations and so quickly answer your own study questions

I just have a good Bible app and lot of free time brother

Amen. I found that just when I thought things couldn't get any worse I found a whole new bottom. Layer after layer was peeled away until I finally was on the Rock. Been uphill since then, and gloriously so.
It is said of God that He alone can humble a man without breaking him and exalt a man without flattering him.
To God be the glory.
A bruised reed He will not break and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring
forth justice. He will not grow weak or discouraged before He has established justice on the earth. :)

Philippians 4:9...Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you...
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So of we were to accept and apply this concept what peace would it bring To our souls ?

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭

Or what peace would this bring to a person who is a confessed and acknowledged sinner ? If they heard and believed and then acted in it ?

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭

If we act in what God says to do and be saved it gives us inner peace and clears our conscience because we heard what god said , believes what he said and act in it

“The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If I do what God says remits my sins I can rest assured my sins are remitted I don’t have to keep carrying the guilt and shame. It is a witness tonthe conscience when we act in what we believe

Yes :D Isaiah 42:3-4 :) My pastor quoted that verse at my nine year cake in AA three years ago...
“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:1, 3-4‬ ‭

“Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.

My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭51:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: and the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭11:1-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I appreciate the many answers of experiences, for indeed our God will make Himself known to us for now He hears when we come to Him in that One name only that will grant us all the blessings. Jesus!

But, I would like to expand a bit on scripture.

Gen 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

Gen 17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

Gen 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Gen 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Is this covenant still in effect? I say yes. I do word studies and had a question that I took to the Lord concerning Ishmael and Isaac. My late husband was Jewish. Full Jew, both mother and father were Jews. My question was the difference between the nations. And God.

The word covenant is

H1285
בְּרִית
berı̂yth
ber-eeth'
From H1262 (in the sense of cutting (like H1254)); a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh): - confederacy, [con-]feder[-ate], covenant, league.
Total KJV occurrences: 284

Circumcision. Paul talks about this in the New Testament. And this topic is about knowing God. Can anyone see where Im going with this?

What exactly is that one way to the Father?

Just to be clear about something...Im not saying that physical circumcision is the answer.

Back later.
