For study to understand the spiritual life God has for us I don't think the scripture commentary by Tom Bradford can be beat.

This study relates the old testament with the new, it gives different ways different denominations interpret a scripture along with an explanation of how and why Tom interprets it, it gives an explanation of the culture at the earthly time a scripture is set in, and it stays strictly to what scripture says, not what man has added to scripture. It carefully defines what the words used by the men who wrote down what God told them meant to these men if there is a change in meaning---such as the word "salt". Over time, salt was used in different ways and meant different things to different cultures.

The study is frree under "torahclass.com'.

Agree, Agree, Agree! Bradford's classes are exceptional. I have found no one else who even comes close to explaining scripture is its historical, cultural and even linguistic context. Well worth the time.
