My brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, the sun, the moon, and the stars are close. We live on a flat, stretched out world, that God created around 6,000 years ago. When he created the firmament on the second day (Genesis 1:6-8), that is the same firmament that the birds fly in (Genesis 1:20), and it is the same firmament that the sun, the moon, and the stars are in (Genesis 1:16,17).
The people of the world knew that the world is flat and stretched out, and heaven is above, when they started building a tower to heaven, right after the flood (Genesis 11:1-9).
In these scriptures:
Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down: Amos 9:2
Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD. Obadiah 1:4
- it means literally climb to heaven (Jeremiah 51:53), as they tried to do in Babel. And it means it is possible to go as high as the (fig sized [Revelation 1:16,20, 2:1, 6:13, 12:1, Isaiah 34:4]) stars, among them, and even above them as the word of God says:
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: Isaiah 14:13
That means it is possible to go above the stars of God, as many aircraft have done up to this day.
And this world is flat because all of the kingdoms of this world were seen from a very high mountain (Matthew 4:8). And the heaven above remains close, all the way to the ends of the earth in Antarctica, where Antarctica rises (Ecclesiastes 1:7) to meet the descending firmament, where heaven and earth meet (Deuteronomy 30:4, Matthew 24:31, Mark 13:27).
The (around six feet wide [Genesis 37:9,10, Revelation 12:1], few inches thick [Genesis 1:16, Isaiah 3:18 KJV]) sun rises (Psalms 19:1-6, Ecclesiastes 1:5) to a height of around 28.65 miles above sea level, due south of Jerusalem. From there it goes down and sets in the west, on Jerusalem, at a height of around 7.83 miles above sea level. Then it continues at that altitude, passing over the north, until it rises on Jerusalem in the east again, every day. Praise God.
What is called the canonical radius of the sun, from Georg Friedrich Julius Arthur Auwers in 1891, is 959.63" (arcseconds).
959.63" + 959.63" = 1,919.26" = diameter of the sun
1,919.26" ÷ 60" = 31.98767' (arcminutes)
31.98767' ÷ 60' = 0.5331278° (degree)
7,912.1767 statute miles (the claimed diameter of a sphere world) ÷ 864,575.6094 statute miles (the claimed diameter of the sun) = 0.00915152
0.5331278° × 0.00915152 = 0.0048789297°
0.5331278° − 0.0048789297° = 0.5282488703°
0.5282488703° ÷ 2 = 0.26412443515°
tan(0.26412443515°) = 0.0046098737
0.0046098737 × 6,214.209 statute miles (the distance from what is called the Geographical North Pole to the equator, on the Longitude 035.23474576724° E line) = 28.6467 statute miles is around the height of the sun above the equator, directly south of the center of the world (in the center of the holy of holies of the first temple that still stands [Psalms 78:68,69] on mount Zion, in position Latitude 31.77683954779° N Longitude 035.23474576724° E), in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 5:5, 38:12, Revelation 20:9), around March 20 and September 22
The distance from the Geographical North Pole to the north Geographical South Pole, on the Longitude 144.76525423276° W line, is 27.323954473516268615107010698011% of the distance from the Geographical North Pole to the south Geographical South Pole, on the Longitude 035.23474576724° E line.
28.6467 statute miles × 0.2732395447 = 7.8274 statute miles is around the height of the sun as it is set, passing over the north, above the equator, around March 20 and September 22
The largest and smallest angular diameters of the sun, from 2011 to 2030, are 1952.0" and 1887.6" (Planetary Ephemeris Data Courtesy of Fred Espenak, www.Astropixels.com), found from the page:

1,952" ÷ 1,919.26" = 1.017058658
1,887.6" ÷ 1,919.26" = 0.983504059
28.6467 statute miles × 1.017058658 = 29.1354 statute miles is around the height of the sun above the Tropic of Cancer, directly south of the center of the world, in Jerusalem, around June 21
28.6467 statute miles × 0.983504059 = 28.1742 statute miles is around the height of the sun above the Tropic of Capricorn, directly south of the center of the world, in Jerusalem, around December 21
7.8274 statute miles × 1.017058658 = 7.9609 statute miles is around the height of the sun as it is set, passing over the north, above the Tropic of Cancer, around June 21
7.8274 statute miles × 0.983504059 = 7.6983 statute miles is around the height of the sun as it is set, passing over the north, above the Tropic of Capricorn, around December 21
The (around six feet wide [Genesis 1:16, 37:9,10, Revelation 12:1], few inches thick [Isaiah 3:18 KJV]) moon and the stars near the sun also have similar altitudes, as they run their courses in the firmament.
Glory to God.
