What could be more better than people from all over seeking the Lords face?
Here i am Lord...Samuel said
Send me....Isaiah
And yet there will be some with false pretense that will look for the super natural experience rather than GOD himself.
In order to be filled one must be emptied. Casting ones burdens on to the Lord. God is able but are we ready?
My sheep know my voice...
Seeking the Lords face is not normal for man to do. Its a calling.
All the publicity of this event has left many in questioning is this for real or is it fabricated?
Jesus said..those that are not against us are for us.
We will always have the doubters, the on lookers, skeptical, mockers.
Reguardless of its nature those who have come seeking with a pure heart shall be filled.
Come and see that the Lord is good.

Are they seeking the Lord's face? When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness He didn't break out in praise and worship, He quoted God's word. Prolonged praise and worship is fairly meaningless; just vain repetition.

It doesn't matter what any of us think about their motives since we are just speculators we didn't go there

But it is also this kind of thinking of yours that blocks his spirit. When I came back on Christian chat one of the first things I said was God was done playing games and that he is going to shake things up I just said that because that is what he put on my heart to speak

And I myself have since coming on here and obeying him to speak have entered into a whole new realtionship with him a level and depth I could only wish for.

Then I learn of this event and I am reminded of when I said that, if this really is God;s hand coming in and changing the game are you willing to miss out on it because of doubt?

So GOD does not inhabit the praises of his people....gotcha

I don't have to wonder if this really is from God so I'm not sweating it.

? where is?

KY, is that Kentucky in the USA.
Is it just one church or a whole area. Details please. What is happening. Whas everyone 'dead' before or sleeping. What has been 'revived' or is it just everyone dressing up in 1950s clothes again?

The only thing I can say that the Christian faith is mixed up with too many secular ideas, national politics and things like that.
Thats true.

I dont have much thought on it because I havent experienced a 'revival' like they do in the US.

I have heard in the olden days they would put up a tent in an open field and people would walk a sawdust trail to repentence. A preacher would whip people up into a frenzy and people would fall down.

In more modern times they did the same thing except it would be in an airport and people falling down would land on their knees in airport lounges hence the term 'carpet time' ..apparently this happened in Toronto

But thats as far as I know.

In nz, one church had a revival in the surfing area of Mt Maunganui and all the surfers and hippies got saved, so people were all heading to the beach to surf AND be baptised.

I wasnt there though. I think it would be interesting to experience it, because some people still talk about those times eg the Welsh revival and seems like everyone was having a touch from God repenting and believing. Not like a Billy Graham staged event but genuine heartfelt repentance...

Revival is supposed to be people getting saved and church members reviving. It's sad how evangelist and pentecostal crowds think it's just praying in tongues loud. I always cringe because the Bible says if there's no interpretation to pray in tongues silently. These supposed men of God make a big show of loud tongues. It's obvious we control the volume if we are commanded to keep quiet. The best true revival gets people dedicated to God and put away the worldly tv and video games. If anything the church could use some sanctification. If someone's not preaching against adultery and filthy living then it's not revival. People need to get right with the Lord. Bible and holy living.

well, I am a pentacostel minister and I can ensure tongues is not the focus of revival. :) Asbury is not a pentacostel location yet there are those who are getting saved, healed, and filled with the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues. I think the list I provided I did not mentions tounges at all :)

Wellit could be that the year itself is the key as 23 means death and for those in Christ death equals resurrection not mention if you know the meaning of this hebrew year and do a deep study on it you might not be so surprised this is happening
I am not surprised that this is happening, and i dont need kabalah to tell me. Im not into mysticism, or gnosticism, or talmudism or any other such study of extra biblical semi pagan gobbledygook to tell me.
I trust the spirit of the Lord and his scriptures to tell me whats up.

I didn't say that, but nice try.
So tell me ...what harm has this caused? What deception has this caused? Why are you not there warning the people?
To be idle is a sin too. If you beleive in your convictions you must act on them.

I think if theyve been fasting and praying, waiting on the Lord to move then good for them

It should happen in every church at pentecost.

People think they have to travel from all over the country to Wilmore, KY to have an encounter with Jesus. To me this demonstrates an incredible lack of Biblical literacy and sound doctrine. All a person has to do to encounter Jesus is go to their secret place and pray. Apparently, no one at Asbury is telling people this; they'd rather keep the show going. The whole thing reminds me of Roman Catholics who travel all over the place to have an encounter with a statue that weeps, or whatever other weird thing.

"And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words."

you dont need to travel

this can happen in your own area if you fast and pray and wait for Him to move. It always happens after this - pentecost or shauvot. I dont quite understand whether its 40 days or 50 though. Acts 2 happened because people were all gathered together of one accord and it was after shauvot.

seems a bit early as Pentecost is 50 days after easter
but some churches do the whole 40 day fast thing before easter (resurrection sunday)

Really you can do it at any time but if the whole church does it together you have this I supoose. For most people it doesnt actually happen on the churches timetable though. Its more one on one.

in baptist churches most children get saved at Easter camp as thats when they are all gathered together (with access to a lot of water...for the baptisms of course) Also its not too cold then.

These kinds of things I would have to be there to discern for sure, but overall I believe this about it:

Philippians 1:15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.
