GOD IS LOVE

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongdoings; love is not happy with evil but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail."

But because GOD IS LOVE, you can replace the word "love" with "God" in this text and end up with a beautiful picture of God's character.

The love here is Agape ----God Is Agape ------

-This love is not at all like our Natural Worldly love -----Our Human Love depends on our emotions -----it is a conditional Love ------

Agape Loves the unlovely ----no matter what anyone does to us ---we love them anyway ------we are nothing but filthy rags but God who is Agape ----Loves us with all our baggage ----He Loves us whether we Love Him or not ------He loves His Mockers ----His Haters ---- this Love knows no boundaries -----



The 1st command is ------To Love God -----This Love here is Agape ----you can only have this Love by and through the indwelling of Holy Spirit -----As Agape is a Fruit of the Spirit -------

So Do we really --really ----Agape God ----which is the First command -----all of the things listed in the Scripture only comes from Agape ------How much are we committed to having this Love ------

Very nice. I like that. Very comforting to know that we can just simply trust in His love.

Something that I have recently been considering, a teaching about the ancient pronunciation of the name of YHWH.

It is said that it was pronounced YaHaVaH . I at first did not receive this as true, but I listened to it again with a meeker spirit and realized that it may be true.

Ya means GOD, in Hebrew,
Av means father,
Ahava means Love.

So, the Name means: GOD, the Father, is Love. Amazing!!! I love it!!! \/

The language and grammar of that statement has never yet made any sense
to me. Now where the Bible says God is spirit, that I get; but the wording
above is confusing.

Exodus 20:5
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

So God is jealous, and He does keep a record of wrongdoings, in fact, He will judge humanity by their works.

1 John 4:8b~ God is Love

Might have to go with good ol king James version to really match it.

I'm guessing that verse is telling us that God is the only actual love this
cosmos has ever known. So . . . when God gives Himself to someone, He's
blessed them with a gift that cannot be reciprocated.

For example: were I to give myself to God like He gives Himself to others,
God wouldn't be gaining a benefit, rather; He'd be gaining a drag.

I think it is important that we keep in mind that love is behavior, a way of life - not an emotion. Thanks for the reminder.

I can understand how God practices love, but I have yet to figure out He
exists as love.
