Hi all I'm not really interested about this, but my friends brother needs help, I'm very concerned at the moment,.

Can Satan manipulate matter to appear as anything he likes,

He's invincible, but does that mean he manipulates dark matter, to clone and mimick fresh air ? or anything or any person or animal, so much so you would think it was a real snake.

He can appear as light, but does that mean he manipulates matter to clone and mimick light,

I need to also add more meaning, to my families dilemma, we are told the serpent received a curse of God.
The curse being the serpent s seed would also receive a curse, a worse curse than any beast that is on earth,

From that is it possible to conceive the notion, that this was a serpent disguised as Satan in the Garden but not a real snake,

Can we also conceive it was not a snake that had become possessed, because the snake would not receive a curse, because where told Satan can enter people and control there speech, but the snake being an animal who is not held to account would not have received a curse.

Satan cannot appear as light, but as an angel or minister of light. This means it is possible for him to appear to be godly when, in fact, he is subtly twisting the truth. This is why we are to test the spirits and to test whether what people tell us aligns with scripture.
Also, while Satan and the fallen angels can indwell nonbelievers, they cannot indwell believers.

There is only one person in all of history that the Bible says Satan entered.
While technically true, I think a case can be made Satan inhabited the King of Tyre, and perhaps others as well.

Dark matter isn't matter, and it might not be any kind of a thing at all; it's just a name we made up in astrophysics for a failure in expansion rates that we don't understand. It's literally just a colorful name for a mathematical problem.

This is getting way off track, and we don't need to get off track here.
This kind of question can be dealt with purely from scripture...
and when we have a question about scripture, it's best to look for the answer in scripture.

I'm sure plenty of people around here can give very sufficient answers from scripture.

It isn't just about dark matter, and I have looked to scripture already.
I have also quoted scripture to look for answers.
I also explained what I ment by dark matter, referring it to the invinsible fresh air we can't see.

I am concerned for my friends faith, who is in crisis I have studied and studied,

I'm first trying to establish whether a snake received a curse or Satan, or both, I love animals even snakes.

Maybe Satan possessed a snake. I know demons can enter pigs, so why not a snake?

Mark 5:12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13
He gave them permission, and
the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs.

PS - Satan is stronger than us, but he's not invincible against Jesus. The Lord just has to say a word and Satan gets his butt kicked at the end of the Millennial age. So embarrassing, lol!

Moreover, Jesus is our fortress and high tower. We should always run to Him for safety!

We don't think of Jesus as a literal Lion although He is called the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and I don't think we should consider the serpent of Genesis any different. He is called that for the convenience of referencing his possession of the characteristics of a snake. As to 'taking the form of an angel of light,' this speaks to presenting himself as a messenger of truth, a 'revealer of reality, but with no legs to stand on. When God said, "on your belly you should go and dust shall you eat,' this refers back to the snake after which characteristics the snake operates, not that his legs were taken away. And, sin it was man's soul that the serpent sought to devour, as this is his appetite (his belly), God gave him only the dust of man to eat since, the only thing the serpent accomplished is the death of man's flesh that returns to dust, but the death of man's soul is reserved for the judgment of God.

All of creation is under a curse...the curse of death. Spiritually, when one is born again, they pass from death to life. One day, there will be no more physical death.

Sure. What does the Bible says? And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Rev 12:9)

Chances are that Satan appeared to Eve as a dragon or a huge serpent.

Satan may seem to be very powerful, and in one sense may be considered so. However, he can do nothing that God doesn’t allow. Christians can be influenced by his constant lies, but should not be fearful, because God provides eternal protection to each believer.

Satan was in control of the serpent, whatever it was. The descriptive terms and ultimate transformation may contain a great deal of metaphor, so a literal snake may not even be correct.

Snakes are no better or worse than any other created creature, many are beneficial, and if you leave the venomous ones alone, they will leave you alone.

The only ones that should fear Satan are unbelievers.

I have no fear, I'm a saved Christian, I don't doubt my faith, thankyou for your discerning, I'm ok, but my friend is not, I really need to find away to convince him, but because of his affliction, he is stumbling, and my research and my brother's research, and my mum brother's wife, research, is not enough to convince him, so I'm here looking for the best possible answers.

I'm sorry you don't feel you're getting answer to this; here are a few quick thoughts.

1.) No one has any idea what dark matter is, or if it's even a thing at all, therefore:
a.) There is no reason to be bringing it up in a Biblical discussion about Satan, it's just a non sequitur.
b.) There is no reason to equate dark matter with "invisible fresh air"... that's another non sequitur

2.) There is no reason to equate this idea of "invisible fresh air" with Satan, as that just has nothing particular to do with Satan, so... another non sequitur.

3.) There are a few common views, about the Serpent, which are commonly discussed in theology.
a.) Satan was "possessing" the serpent.
(We know from scripture evil spirits can go into animals, so this is theologically feasible, and would fit the narrative.)
b.) Satan merely "appeared" as a serpent.
(We know from scripture that Satan can appear as an angel of light, so it's feasible he could appear as some other being as well.)
c.) There wasn't really any serpent at all, and this story is entirely metaphorical.
(I don't really think this fits the Genesis narrative, or other parts of scripture, but it is a theory some people hold.)

These questions about the serpent are very common questions, and it's a a commonly discussed topic.
So you shouldn't have any problem getting some answers... but I would try to stick directly to scripture.

God Bless.

That‘s a tough one. He needs much prayer, and your friendship. There are no magic words, only the Love of God can bring light to darkness.

Ephesians 1
20which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, 21far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

22And God put everything under His feet and made Him head over everything for the church,

Revelation 12
7Then a war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But the dragon was not strong enough, and no longer was any place found in heaven for him and his angels. 9And the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

10And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying:

“Now have come the salvation and the power

and the kingdom of our God,

and the authority of His Christ.

For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down—

he who accuses them day and night before our God.

11They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb

and by the word of their testimony

Revelation 20
1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the Abyss, holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

Ephesians 6
16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Revelation 21
10And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, into which the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

This doesn't apply to Christians, Christians are free from a curse. my friend is concerned God has not accepted him. Which as we know God says come as you are.

Man is still under a curse of death. The proof is that he still dies. Men still earn a living by the sweat of their brow. Women still travail in childbirth. The Apostle Paul said the whole creation still groans.
I added the part about passing from spiritual death to life because this aspect of the curse has been removed for Christians, but the other aspects have not been removed yet.

If the concern for your friend is his eternal estate, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Read scripture with him.
