Trump didn't say he wouldn't get convicted for shooting someone, only that his diehard supporters wouldn't care. Alot of others would, including many who he thought were diehard supporters.
And I know you know he was using hyperbole. He would be arrested in a "New York minute".

What I know is that Trump has said some incredibly foolish and offensive things.

I don't make excuses for Biden and I don't make excuses for Harris, so I also do not make excuses for Trump. As far as I am concerned it you want to be President of the US you are required to understand how the things you say and do will be perceived.

Politically, Trump is a bull in a China shop. I'm not a Trumpist. I think DeSantis offers everything Trump does basically, without all the baggage. But it doesn't matter, in the end, who is elected if the nation doesn't look to God.

Hyperbole has no place in setting an example for people who would commit murder!!! He was saying, in essence, that murder is okay for himself and, by implication, his followers.

It is also in direct opposition to what Jesus taught! Can you imagine Jesus aying "since I am the Son of God, I can kill a person and get away with it"???

Jesus didn't tell us to kill others, He told us to take up our cross and follow Him. Paul was the one who told us to put our old man to death.

However, Jesus did say preaching the gospel was like mud wrestling, which is why even when we are clean we still need our feet to be washed, they are shod with the gospel of peace.
