Interesting spacing in those years.

In 1998 I was much more willing to participate in a telephone survey. In 2023 I automatically assume it is the intro to a scam. It's interesting to speculate how the population that would be willing to participate in a telephone survey has shifted.

I wonder why they picked 2019 to be between 1998 and 2023. I would have expected something closer to the middle of the difference between 1998 and 2023 - 2010, perhaps.

Wow. Reminds me of how Paul says it will be in the last days.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 1 Tim. 3:1-5

When I exit this earth I will leave behind people I love and care about very much. I pray they have a chance.
Oh, so it’s the topic of salvation.
Okay thank you, carry on.

I think the most concerning is the "having children" index.

Countries which have a slow growth rate/non-existent growth rate tend to decline .... China and Japan are already entering a point of no return.

The only one that concerns me is the one concerning religion. Fix that and the others will be fixed in the process.

I agree (just don't get used to it). A rabbi explaining the significance of the symbolism of the star of david observed that Maslow's hierarchy of needs should be inverted upon its head. And if self-actualization, and that is the realization and recognition that we (all) are made in God's image, were provided as the most basic need, the rest would more easily fall into place, rather than the struggle most are currently experiencing striving for food and shelter first and foremost.

All I read was I agree. Hopefully the rest of the post is as good.

Is society becoming more centered on self / materialism?
A selfless society would be more feasibly attained if each individual were less worried about what they will eat or what they will drink or what they will wear or about tomorrow knowing that just as the Lord feeds the birds and clothes the lilies, so all the more He cares for us.
The trouble is apparent that nobody believes that anybody cares.

The King clothes us in righteousness, more glorious garments than adorn the lilies! And He nourishes us with manna from heaven, the faithful Word of God! And He gives us living water that we should thirst no more.
Regard one another better than yourselves. And Greet one another with an holy kiss:whistle:muuah*

Last full year before covid changed the landscape of our lives? .
Fair point.

Not something usually considered in graphing data points though, because it throws the scale off.

Perhaps, to illustrate more vividly the recent shift compared to the earlier longer-term trend...?
