Can a Christian woman get Botox?
What about lash enhancement, hair colour at salon, or nails/pedicure? getting a massage or facial? Laser hair removal?
To what extent is looking good according to “society norms” acceptable and not vanity. Is it just how it makes you feel? Like if you’re doing it to look better than others (and think you are/haughty look)
I know we’re not supposed to draw attention to ourselves and be modest and outward appearances should not be consuming out thoughts etc..
1 Samuel 16:1-13 (NRSV) “The Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
1 Peter 3:3-4. “Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.”
Proverbs 31:30
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
And then there’s the money spent on these things.. I feel it’s pretty normal for women to spend a good amount of money for hair cut/colour these days at the salon. Is there any boundary/limit to how much we can spend on these treatments or are some accepted while others off limits?
Or is it just what a individual’s convictions are for each one and there’s no “rules”
Like I don’t feel anything is wrong doing my own nails from home and my own hair
Yes it takes time out of my life to keep up these treatments but I want to look good for my husband as well. I shave my legs too 🤣
Is there anything wrong with spending money on botox to get rid of an angry line between my brows?
I have a feeling it is wrong because it’s money that could be used for much better things…
But I don’t want to look angry anymore. 😣
