The nation that raised John Knox and suffered terrible persecution by anti Reformation forces is now ruled by a Muslim. My late friend and mentor had a number of visions. About 40 years ago, at the height of the oil crisis, he saw a black mist rising from the ground. The mist represented Islam.

London has a Muslim mayor. The Church of England is declining numerically as well as spiritually. King Charles is the Head of not very much.

Does this matter? The UK is on track to become a Muslim majority nation, at least when it comes to voting. The most common male child's name is Muhammad or some variation of that name. Sharia law exists already in the Muslim community and has done since the 1980's. A small number of Muslims serve in the armed forces, and the military administration seeks to increase the number.

If the UK becomes a Muslim country, what will happen? A nation hostile to Western values (which are decaying rapidly anyway) with a powerful military and nuclear weapons? Woke progressives, especially LGBTQI should head for New Zealand or Canada now. Islam is not at all tolerant.

I was born in England. The decline of that once great nation is proof of what happens when the people turn away from God. My parents did me the greatest of favours when they enabled me to migrate to Australia.

This explains your normal views on American gun culture but I miss the Cold War too.
I am grateful for what I had and for what I do have still.
Living in fear or a doomsday scenario is not very good for your physical health and your spiritual health.
All nations rise and fall but His Kingdom is eternal.

I'm not living in fear. We are warned in God's word that we should get ready for the trials to come. It is also a warning not be complacent. Try finding the 7 churches warned in the book of Revelation. Their ruins are in what is now Turkey. I'm 72, so much of what may happen will be after I've gone home. None of the future is inevitable. If the church rises up in authority and power, Satan's control will be loosened. If the church does nothing, it will pay the price.

The Koran clearly advises Muslims not to trust Jews and Christians, so I don't think the three groups will get along. I think socialism and its effects such as unemployment, lower quality of living, etc. in Europe is fueling sharia law and conservative Islam. Increasing wealth and providing opportunity will allow for more progressive Islam. Europe is getting more Muslims from poor countries, many of whom are refugees (the Muslims in the U.S. tend to be more educated and wealthy). Conservative Muslims also pray 5 times per day, so they are less likely to go astray. Islam varies by across Muslim countries (some are more conservative, some more liberal). I think increasing wealth/opportunity will ease tensions overall, and makes people less religious (however this negatively impacts Christians as well). Best case scenario is that U.K becomes more like Bahrain.

Years ago the then Arch Bishop of Canterbury publicly stated Sharia law, (there is also a system known as Sharia banking, finance) was inevitable for Great Britain.
He walked that statement back shortly thereafter.

I remember when ISIS was making news. They had plans to rule the world.

Now, news of them is quiet. Yet thanks to their acts of terrorism Muslims in that target region have been flown to western countries as refugees. Who rarely ever return home, as the laws relating to refugee policy require once the threat subsides.

Muslim terrorists didn't have to journey forth to overtake the world.
Governments of western nations fly them in. And give them rights and protections under the label of refugee.

A people who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
If the victims of every psychotic dictator in history had been armed, history would report on dead psychotic dictators. Not their dead unarmed victims.

Im thinking they will just become insanely rich and build lots more mosques, maybe take over the old excatholic cathedrals and abbeys and start redecorating them ? Like the dome of the rock. in Jerusalem.

They'll probably build another Taj Mahal while they at it. Everyone will be wearing luxury burberry headscarfs. The British Empire and the Islamic Empire werent that much different from each other in terms of greed and arrogance.

We lost the ‘Great’ a long time ago, as a Brit we prefer to use UK - United Kingdom. ‘Great’ we usually only see at international sporting events such as the Olympics or when reviewing our past history of the 19th Century Victorian era.

I sense a melancholic tone in your post, a pining for a world long lost and coming to a neighbourhood near you.

Yes, Scotland has just elected a Muslim First Minister and true London has a Muslim Mayor, and in Rishi Sunak we have a Hindu Prime Minister.

For my part, I certainly prefer a good leader of a different faith over a poor pseudo-Christian representative. The good Samaritan, the woman at the well, etc shows us that respect between us is often well deserved.

From scripture, Christ’s Example of Humility (Philippians 2:1-11, especially 9-11). This passage endorses my own personal belief as a Christian and should give us all, however testing the trial, a positive outlook for the future.

As always - All, for the glory of God!

You mean the nation that exiled John Knox? The nation that has the king or queen as the leader of their church?
And murdered thousands of reformers, imprisoned John Bunyan and burned many at the stake. But real Christianity thrived. The church went into decline as the nation abandoned Israel and embraced Islam.

Mock the monarchy if you wish. Queen Elizabeth was a born again believer who was a great influence for good. The monarchy has no real power in the UK. It has no real power over the Church of England either.

Harrods was bought by a Muslim in 1985. It was an obvious move because the Muslim elites spent a fortune there.

I did not mock the queen. What I did do was point out that no nation, not the UK, not the US and not Australia has anything to boast of when it comes to being "a christian" nation. How does someone who is an unbeliever boast in what believers did. They kill the prophets and then white wash the tombs.

As for the queen being born again, I have never heard her salvation testimony, so I know nothing of that.

Europeans are not really reproducing much from what little I've gathered. Japan is the same but it's not allowing immigrants in so its economy may face a collapse in the not so distant future. Japan is not pro imigrants. UK accepts immigrants so although British people are marrying and reproducing less, there are young people coming in to support and grow the economy. Immigrants are usually a very reproductive group so life Carrie's on there and the economy retains a brighter hope for the future than it otherwise would have. For the native British population to increase you have to overcome cost of living challenges but most importantly atheists that encourage people to not have children and live for themselves instead. I think atheist are a bigger challenge there than muslims.

God can smash through it all if'n He chooses.

But this I tell you He won't do it with the message of John Knox.

Because God is not moving in some manifest way does not mean He is not moving, people are getting saved, people are responding to God's LOVE message for that IS God's message for this generation.

In the days of John Knox hell fire and brimstone was all the gospel they knew, of a surety it is the word of God and God will use it.

But the message Jesus gave to the woman at the well is also God's word and actually 100% times more reflective of God's will for people

If any man drink of the water that I give he shall never thirst again
it will become in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

That's God's word, that's powerful, that will win souls, it is the message of God for this generation.

When God says for us to mourn we should weep but when He says feast we should put on our glad rags and rejoice and be merry.

Romans 1:
"18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse."

Sure, God can change things. The question is, will He? People reap what they sow. The blessings of God are to lead people to repent. If they do not repent, then God's next option is to bring judgement. And that is what we see right now.

The church has the answer. Will Christians respond or be apathetic and indifferent? Fatalism is not the answer. Lord Jesus warned the 7 churches in the book of Revelation. They are ruins in Muslim Turkey now.

God saves sinners. People need to be convicted. Most people, even the truly wicked, say that they are fundamentally good. I believe John Wesley had a good balance between God's wrath against sin and God's mercy and grace towards sinners. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A revelation of God's love will draw people to Him.

After witnessing the gospel preached by our Lord Jesus and seeing His wonderful works of mercy upon the sick would you choose to go back to the ministry of John the Baptiser?

THAT is the choice the church must make.

Revelation has moved on, when God's message was funerals His true people mourned and the Puritans were in the minority, but now God's message is weddings, God's true people are dressed in their garments of praise and are merry, they are in the minority still.

But God is mighty in their midst.

Peter was brought to repentance when he saw the miracles of fishes, then he fell to his knees and cried "Lord depart from me a sinful man" but Jesus said you will catch multitudes of men.

Did He upbraid Nathanael? did He command that he wept and wailed in repentance before he could be saved? no He hailed Nathanael as a true Israelite in whom is no guile and Nathanael submitted to Him when the Lord revealed his innermost longing.

Did He condemn the woman of Samaria? or did He speak to her about the water of life? Did He condemn anyone at all? except those self righteous ones. Yet all repented and submitted to Him.

What should be the true Christian response to the HUGE influx of immigrants, muslims, buddas, shintos? I know what my political response is, I know how I feel about it in the natural man. But what is God's word concerning immigrants and strangers? what should my heart be toward them in order to serve Christ?

I'm involved in missionary work my brother aye and we are witnessing many, many come to the Lord, Moslems ....

Therefore repent my brother, change your mind about these things.

And if the rest of evangelicals did so we would see a mighty revival in the land.

You must get God's view, God's plan, get on His program.

You know the gospel is forbidden in those nations, so God is sending them to us. God hath bared His holy arm, He's rolled His sleeves up and He's looking for a people who will receive the people He is sending with sleeves rolled up ready to do a job of work.

Let us put aside our political views and our natural feelings. The western nations are going to fail in any case.

All these things do the nations of the world seek after

To be sanctified, to be holy, is to be uncommon. If you are seeking after these things then you are common, you are not sanctified, you are not holy.

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

The word eat here means to eat, devour, consume. Allegorically it could refer to things other than food. Therefore this portion begins and ends with this term because you could seek to consume any of these things.

23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Sadly, no one listens to this. For example, consider a basketball player. He is taking thought on how to improve, how to add to his stature. He works on his game, on his defense, on his shooting, on his ball handling skills, on his rebounding. He becomes a college superstar and makes it to the pros. He keeps at it and never suffers a serious injury. As a result he makes it to the hall of fame. But there he is in his 40s, does being in the NBA hall of fame add to his stature one cubit? Does this make him rich towards God? Yes, by taking thought you can become a better player, coach, announcer, etc. But if you are not turning to the Lord who cares? In the grand scheme of things looking at it from eternity, who cares? Do you really think a thousand years from now anyone will care that Cliff Hagan was in the NBA hall of fame?

26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

The focus should be on faith.

29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

This is what common people, unholy people, seek after.

31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

This is what sanctified, holy people seek after.
