Honoring all His children

Many years ago, I married my childhood sweetheart. She is beautiful, gentle, loving, and Catholic. I was a protestant mess. In my heart I promised not to do anything that would interfere with her faith. If God could make such a wonder, I promised not to tamper.

Despite of what we were told, this “Mixed Marriage” has been beautiful. We can both honor YHWH in either house with gladness and joy. Yeshua is our redeemer. We enjoy the beauty and comfort of a Catholic mass while equally enjoying a good Christian sermon and protestant fellowship. Interestingly, one of our two children has embraced Catholicism while the other is Lutheran. They move easily in God’s house.

One thing we know, Protestants criticize Catholics and Catholics criticize Protestants. This is sad, unnecessary, and unbiblical.
There have been several posts on CC with strong anti-Catholic bias, even equating Catholics to the “Great Whore of Babylon.” (I wonder if these folks have ever read history, or the Bible)?

Many approached Christ. He never asked their theology and he never turned away any seeker. He just asked that they believe that He and the Father are one.

We honor our creator when we honor all those who are his children.

First of all, I agree we should "honor all men" as commanded in 1 Peter 2:17. And we are to love our brother, our neighbor, and our enemy. That leaves no one out for sure.

Secondly, it's wonderful that you and your wife have been able to have a happy marriage despite your differences.

I can't agree though, at your insinuation that basically people from every denomination are God's children. We are only sons/daughters of God if we are born again into the family of God. The doctrines of the Catholic church are very antichrist. (Idolatry, infallibility of the pope, relying on sacraments and rites instead of the true Gospel and what God's Word really says, to name a few.) The system is antichrist. Not putting a blanket judgement out there that there aren't any true believers in that system, but God says, "Come out of her, my people..." (Rev. 18:4)

I do believe the Catholic church is a "Christianized" version of ancient Babylonian religion. The supposed "Mary and Jesus" images are no other than the ancient Semiramis and Tammuz. There's so so so much paganism in the Catholic church it's crazy. And she has persecuted sincere believers over the centuries. "Drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus;" (Rev. 17:6) These are some reasons why people, including myself, equate her with the Great Whore of Babylon. And yes, I think many of us that make that claim have read history and the Bible.

One part in your statement here I wouldn't say is that "Catholics" , per se, are the great whore of Babylon. Rather, the system.

After Peter's confession of Christ, Jesus told him in Matthew 16:17, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah!..."
and then just 6 verses later Jesus tells him, "Get behind me, Satan!..."
It always seems to be the "other" guy.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that, clearly, the Roman Catholic church system isn't the only one that's corrupt, so I'm not just picking out Catholicism here. I explained in another thread recently why I'm not a part of any "church".
