John 2:13-15 . . In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep
and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a
whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and
cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their
tables.

I'd like to know how Jesus got away with all that. Why didn't the merchants
fight back and/or report him to authorities and have him charged with
mischief and assault? There's something very strange about that incident.

My intention was to understand in the light of Jesus being peaceful and us living by his grace love / peace - no law / sin this statement is far from that. I accept that I should have been much clearer and apologies for that. Doesn't allow me to amend.
What is it exactly you don't understand? You mean how Jesus can be loving and merciful on the one hand but vengeful on the other?

Seems the church has too often taught the Teddy Bear Jesus forgetting He is The Lion of Juda.

Not just the second coming;

Matt 10:34-36 34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law – 36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”

If you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one (a sword). (Luke 22:36)

The first time Christ came, he came as the lamb depicted in the 53rd
chapter of Isaiah; the next time he'll come as the monarch depicted in
the 2nd Psalm.

Also, Jesus is depicted in the book of Revelation as a lamb opening seals
that result in the deaths and misery of people all over the world.

* I was schooled in Catholic catechism when I was a kid, and never once to
my recollection did the nuns ever mention Jesus' capacity for violence except
for that cleansing of the Temple incident; and I rather suspect that most folks
have a picture of Jesus in their heads given them by Hollywood movies, Xmas
cards, and sappy sermons; never suspecting he's on track to tread the winepress
of the wrath of God per Isa 63:1-6 and Rev 19:15.

“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me.” (Luke 19:27)
This will actually be fulfilled literally when Christ comes the second time to destroy all His enemies. When God the Father said to God the Son "Sit thou at my right hand until I make thy foes thy footstool" this is exactly what He was alluding to.

Not sure if this is talking about Jesus second coming as he goes on to say;

Luke 19:28 - 28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

Luke 22:36 - I also mentioned other passages like - If you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. - this relates to Jesus present time - not a prophesy.
