On the one hand you say praise and worship can be an effective weapon in spiritual warfare, and on the other you say that isn't it's purpose. So why use it as a weapon of spiritual warfare if that's not its purpose?
Because it works. The tormenting demon left Saul not because of David's skill as a musician but because the Spirit of God descended while David worshiped. The demon did not want to be in the presence of GOD.

Yes I have heard preaching on this. Different denominations tend to find different ideas or theologies more or less important. I think which church a person is in will impact the answer to your questions.
Very true Justine. I had a conversation with someone of a different denomination a while back on the subject of high praise. Toward the end she said "The things you speak of do not line up with the teachings of my (denomination) church" She was limited in her expressions of praise/worship by mans tradition. About a year later she did break out of those traditions and into a higher level of worship while alone.

True worship extends beyond the material world. Jesus is always in the midst of his people. This is true in small groups...where two or more gather in His name, as well as in corporate worship...I will declare Thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto Thee.

The church is in mystical union with Christ. According to Hebrews 2:12, Jesus comes and preaches and leads the singing. Something of this should be received and acknowledged in true worship.

I do believe, sadly, that little of this is taught, and far less experienced in our time.

Well I know that when I am in worship I seem to be in a kind of golden light almost like a fog so that may be what your talking about.

This also is when I have the most intense and interactive moments with him I don't just sing with my lips it's like the words come from deep inside not my tongueI don't tend to have issues with spirits when I am in worship but I imagine if they tried anything they would be busy covering their ears worshipping God really does get to them
Yes truly I learnt this from David
Sam. 16:16 “seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. And it shall be that he will play it with his hand when the distressing spirit from God is upon you, and you shall be well.”

23 - “And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him.”

When one of his servants told him about David, that he not only played the harp, but was skilled at many things and that the Lord was with him, Saul sent for him - this was David’s first introduction to his future life, one that he would lead from this point forward.

There we have it bro singing in worship is a must to connecting onto a frequency with God where spirits, who can distress you flee.
And where you renew your mind from unclean spirits that have effected your mental well being earlier. It also strengthens the heart. Maybe this is what is ment when Jesus said here is a man after my own heart.

Brother it's a must, it's why i sing all day. It's a true way to worship to sing.
Honestly God is a Dj amongst many others things, so singing is nourishment for the soul.
Gods Gift for us to be happy and connect with his Gifts in our heart.
Which unclean spirits try to rob us of each and every day.
The spiritual warfare battle is untill the end bro. And more real for those who worship in truth and spirit.😊.

And if I recall there is a sect in heaven who specifically sing praise and worship to him all day every day I can't say I blame them if you truly understood his majesty and glory you would too
Heb 12 22-24 tells where and with whom we can join in praise. It is a full time event there because they see HIM as HE is. Worship is automatic there because of that. We here on earth worship in faith - not yet seeing fully.

When someone reaches the high praise / spiritual level their physical faces often do have a noticeable glow

First of all, the evil spirit that tormented Saul was from the Lord. It didn't depart because it "did not want to be in the presence of GOD"; it left because God allowed it to. It was to demonstrate to Saul that He was God.

I'm hearing a lot of nonsense about praise and worship with no scriptural support whatsoever. I'd like to see just one New Testament scripture that says anything about praise and worship being some kind of magical protection that sends demons running. Surely if there is any truth to this there would be at least one passage of scripture.

I and others think that a restoration of such is at hand. Please stay alert.

2 Corinthians 10:4 plus Matthew 24:6~ The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. :)

No, praise/worship isn't a weapon, however those people that reach higher levels of such can experience GODs protection that other believers do not.
Does this include paul in prison...when he began to sing a great earthquake that shook the gates open and freed him.
Not saying paul expected this out come and thats why he sang but it does tell us that praise can deliver us from bondage.
Ive always seen praise as a form of worship. In my minds eye i picture a clear day turning cloudy then dark clouds start to loom over with threat of a storm. The father looking for his child cannot see him due to the dark clouds.
The child crys out and as he cries the clouds start breaking up and the father regains sight of his child and they are united once again.
We are taken over in many situations in life. We fear, we fail, we fall, but remembering and praising God in his faithfulness of his promises not so much as a emotional thing which can come and go but a discipline we must exercise.

After the fall of adam the Lord asked....where are you adam? Not that GOD did not know or that it is possible to hide from the Lord but i see it as dark clouds blocking the view.

My only concern is what if I am so lost in worship there I never do anything else:LOL:
Though praise being automatic is no surprise I mean after all if we had even just a small window of who he is we would be floored with awe.

We see through a veil and that goes with worship as well if we think it is sheer joy to worship him now wait until we get the real thing

I think so absolutely. There truly is power in praise/worship.

I'll admit to being rather shaky on this but it seems true worship comes from our spirit and praise from our soul.
I am still in study about this

I thank the Lord that such has not totally died out or been quenched.
Amen. Neither shall it...I will build my church...and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The way this is phrased is very telling. Though the gates are closed, Jesus, at will, goes into enemy territory and converts the lost. Satan, though at times, appears to be in control, he was bound at the cross. Wherever God sends the gospel, those who were once in darkness are translated into the glorious kingdom of God's Son.
