something that the famous review of the grateful dead is touching on:
they were inconsistent, so they were never the best. but when they were on point, they were singularly incredible.
when this group wasn't unified in spirit, they were a jumbled mess.
but when they were all of one spirit and mind, there was nothing like it on earth - extraordinarily beautiful

we are like this as a church, too. when we aren't walking together in the Spirit, we're an ugly shambles, arguing and bitter and scattered.
but when we are all of one mind and in step with Christ, there is nothing more wonderful, nothing in humanity can compare.
